Lets Talk Spray-In Bed Liners

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I need to get this done to my truck. I have heard a lot of horror stories about it not turning out well, so I imagine there are some companies that are good and some that are not so good. I also guess on how they prepare it would make a difference. So who have you used and liked or not liked. What should I expect to pay to have this done? It's a long bed, not going over the rails, but I would want the CNG tank cover done as well. I also plan on installing a goose neck hitch. Does it matter if I do that before or after it gets sprayed? Are there different textures to choose from? I'd want mine closer to smooth then super rough.

What are your thoughts?

Yes. The original rhino is sticky. The lined is hard. I recommend going to each and seeing a sample. The linex will be more rough to the touch than the hard Rhino, but I liked it better.

I have rhino in my truck. It was in the truck when I bought it. I have no complaints. My buddy has it in his truck and hates it. Dealer installed it paper thin. Like has been said look at some samples. There is a body shop in town that does some.It is fairly soft and smooth. I have it in my Jeep. Been very happy with it. Dont remember the brand. Call around. Lots of shops do it.

I prefer no bedliner, but I've heard good stuff about raptor liner. I think box rocket has experience with raptor liner.

I just painted the inside of my tube with a dupli color kit from checker and wouldnt hesitate to do it in a truck now. I found a kit of the good stuff with a gallon and install stuff for $72, the lower end bed liner they have is usually $70 for a gallon. Just takes time!

In my experience, the DIY ones are not going to last or be nearly as durable as the ones that require special equipment/processes to apply. I don't have enough experience to recommend a certain brand, but for the most part, I'd say you get what you pay for. I'd try to get one with a warranty from the installer too.

If you are installing a hitch in the bed, do it first so the liner will cover any bare metal from the holes you cut in your bed - less likely for water to get under the liner, and less likely to peel that way.

I have whatever spray in one ken Garff has done and I've been impressed over the last two years. I throw heavy, sharp stuff in there and slide metal in there and it hasn't flinched. It's also soft (and smooth) enough to the touch that it's not awful to sit in there. I did roll-on in my old truck myself and it was like sandpaper. Kneeling on it sucked and it didn't seem more durable than the spray on at all.

I have done the DIY liners in jeep tubs and they work pretty well for that. But they are so thin. I don't think I would want to go that route for a truck bed that will tones of abuse.
I got a quote for rhino, $550 for the long bed. Then $8.xx per square foot to have the cng tank cover done as well. Is that a good price?

I paid $550 in 2009 to have my 6.5' bed sprayed by Line X. I will have Line X spray my Jeep when I finally get to that point.

Theirs color match stuff is cool!
