So I read the actual article. Obviously gun laws change from state to state.. with our States being on both sides of their laws strict wise.
But I found this to be the biggest difference

"Switzerland is also one of the richest, healthiest, and, by some measures, happiest countries in the world."​

Switzerland also has mandatory military service for all men, and until recently, members of the armed forces stored their rifles and ammunition in their own homes. This is something that has led to the Swiss society to being very comfortable with having firearms around. They also have free firearm training for children as young as 10, and most schools having some sort of gun club for kids as young as 15.
Their population is also tiny compared to ours.
