Switzerland also has mandatory military service for all men, and until recently, members of the armed forces stored their rifles and ammunition in their own homes. This is something that has led to the Swiss society to being very comfortable with having firearms around. They also have free firearm training for children as young as 10, and most schools having some sort of gun club for kids as young as 15.
Their population is also tiny compared to ours.

My how times have changed...We used to take guns to school, store them in our lockers, and then go shooting after school. Sometimes with the Sheriff assigned to our school.
