Will a locker cause more breakage?

I think that a locker is giving both shafts the power, but more torque is 'being created' by the wheel on the ground, so it is not equal, causing breakage. Am I totally offbase here or what? :confused:

so far all that has come out of this is: propellerheads agree, lockers will break axles easier, as they are either distributing ALL the torque or SOME of it to the tire on the ground.

ARGH. I haven't personally known anyone who's broken an axle with an open diff, but plenty with lockers, whether it's from torque, work-hardening from street use, whatever.

Of course they are not always accurate but superjeeper said he would like to see literature. I have quite a bit laying around the house that says in print that differentials send equal torque to both shafts.
