Long distance running

I'd be down for a 5 or 10k. I was actually thinking of doing the Moab half marathon in the fall, but I need to check the dates to make sure it doesn't conflict with the Lake Powell Triathlon that I'd like to do again.

Salt Lake Running Co has a website that shows a lot of the races. Here are a couple that I'd really like to do this year....

Thinking about doing the half or 10k on this.....runs down buckhorn draw.

I'll probably do this tri

I'll probably make this little guy my first tri this year. Never done a reverse before.

That little grand canyon marathon/half/10k looks neat!

Anybody ever use the running track at the Olympic Oval?

>1/4 mile indoor track is sweet, and it's 63-65 degrees inside year-round. Cheap to use too! I think I'm going to use this instead of the treadmill next time the weather forces me inside. I'll probably use it during the really hot days of summer too.

It's just too far away for me. I don't mind running for an hour or so, but driving for 30 minutes each way turns it into a 2 hour deal for me....which I have a hard time doing.

Yeah, it's close to my house. Not as close as the treadmill I usually use, but worth it to not run on a treadmill.

Thought of this thread as I went for my run this morning... I normally keep my winter runs to the treadmill, but I make exceptions :p

 So where are you at? The picture name suggests New York but I'm 100% certain New York doesn't look like that this time of year :D

Marco Island, Florida, enjoying the comfortable 75* weather :D

I uploaded the pic using the photobucket droid app, not sure why it got that URL

Oooh, that looks sweet. Yesterday it was above 40 degrees during my run. I was happy with that.
Yeah, I left a little late yesterday on my run. When I started, the snow was melting, by the time I finished, all that melting snow had turned in to ice...that made for an interesting run :ugh:

Running in sand is about as hard as it gets. Reminds me of Rocky Point watching the ice cream men pushing their carts through the sand. Can't be much fun.

On a side note, my wife has been running with the salt lake running club doing the winter races. Her first race ever was a 5k. Did it a month or so ago. She ran it 5 minutes faster then her goal. So did the same two weeks ago with a 10k. This Saturday is her 15k so we'll see how that goes.

She signed me up with her to do a half marathon in vagas in December. That will be my first race, and my last im sure. I'm no runner, but if it helps her then I'm all for it.

Is anyone running the Moab race in March? We will be there for that.

If you can do a 15k trail run then the ragnar will be easy. the longest trail run I've ever done was only 2.7 miles. I'm not sure I have the ankles for 9.3, and with the triathlon training I'm doing I'm not sure I have the time to train the right way. I'll think about it.

I did this Bonneville trail relay last year and it was pretty fun

doesn't look like they've updated their site since last year though.
