AAA or Best Deal could probably make the spring packs for you. I've used them both quite a bit for medium duty trucks at the power company, 4WD and 2WD.

Wow, thanks for all the great replies and info. Work has me swamped and I just popped in real quick to check back on the thread to find tons of help. Really appreciated.

Some quick answers/replies before I run back to work:
- It's a Duramax (with DPF, but luckily it at least doesn't have DEF too)
- I have spoken with Advanced 4wd here in utah and he doesn't do medium duty. Also spoke to u-joint offroad who does tons of 4x4 van conversions and offers full kits for DIY, but he also doesn't do mediums. I emailed AJ's 4x4 Vans in Portland area and he said he could do it, but it would be his first time and so he's not sure what it would entail.
- I would also want it lifted about 6", so that would mean a leafpack change in the rear that could work out with the front work.

@Vonski have you done projects with Kodiaks/Topkicks like this? Sounds like you know all about em.

@skippy What's the name of your shop?

Thanks all!

Oh. You did excellent work on my Taco last year. I'm glad you're interested in doing this -- I thought about calling you to see if you would, but I didn't think it was something you guys would be into.

I know a decent amount, but only because I looked at possibly buying a Kodiak about a year ago. I ended up going with the updated version which has some similarities, but more modern cab, drivetrain, and misc. features. However, they have their own set of issues, with emissions/DEF systems at the top of the list. 🤷‍♂️ I’m jealous of your project and I can see mine having some kind of camper or custom living quarters added possibly down the road. 🤔

Sweet truck. Man, that looks good!
Yeah, I was hating the idea of even having a DPF, but DEF is just too much BS.

@skippy I'm waiting to hear back on the timeline for picking up the ambo which is contingent on their new one being completed/delivered which has an ETA of March/April. Once the deal is done I'll call and talk to you about getting it scheduled for down the road. Priority is getting it modified to qualify as an RV for insurance purposes. So, I'm in no big rush to get the 4x conversion done.

I'll update thread with pics. Probably start a project thread or something.

@H-K how are you getting on with this search? I have the exact same rig and just finished a full conversion to a camper. Next I'm going to lift it 6in and convert it to 4x4. I'm striking out on finding a shop that can handle it as well. I emailed Quigley in PA but haven't heard back. I'm told they could handle the project, but mine is in CA now and I'm headed to CO via UT. So, east coast is not ideal...

Hell yeah -- Finally bought this thing and it should be here later next week. Pretty stoked about it! I'll be doing a build thread at some point. Right now I need to find somewhere to store it. I'm renting a condo and the ambo is not going to fit in the parking garage. If anybody has some space in their yard/driveway or warehouse/shop in the SLC/Bountiful area and wants to make some extra cash to let me store it for about 3 maybe 4 months, let me know. I'm looking at options in neighbor.com right now and also some RV storage lots etc. Ideally I'd love a space where I can work on the interior on weekends. Right now the plan is to store it during the week and then take it on weekends to work on elsewhere. 🚑
