Agreed! It's time I quit stalling with that one. Honestly I've never taken apart an axle so that's part of the reason why I haven't just tackled the issue. Even though it's only replacing the third, it's not something I've some before.

It's a toyota e-locker out of a tacoma. I picked it up last year and just haven't gotten around to doing the work.

Do you have the whole axle, or just the elocker?

Yeah mine currently doesn't leak anything so I am weary of doing the mod without the whole e-locker axle but those for a 4Runner are much less common.

Kevin, it's just the e-locker third member, no complete axle.

Slightly better picture of how it sits. I should have some pictures of it in it's habitat after this weekend.

a runner on 33's will go 98% of the places a runner on 35's will go. Lots less work to tub, and easier on the drivetrain. Sharp looking runner.

Took a trip to the Sun Tunnels this weekend with my friend just for the general experience of going there. The original plan was to run the PET but we didnt manage our time properly and wouldnt have the time to cover the trip and do what we wanted to do so instead we visited the Tunnels. Drove around the nearby trails that went around the mountains etc, had a great time. Once again my 4Runner performed amazing!

Here's a few pictures of that

Topping off the tank in Delle

The winds at the Sun Tunnels hit 20mph that evening so we set up the tents beind one of the tunnels to reduce the wind hitting the tents

Then we went exploring around the desert

Then last followed by a drive through Governor's Spring looking for snow before heading back to town

This past weekend at a half a tank left of gas I opted to replace my air filter and PCV valve, I was very surprised to see how dirty my air filter has gotten after only 6 months, like really really bad! I know most of my miles on the 4Runner are offroad but this was just unexpected.

So after replacing those two items I finished off the tank and filled up again, I averaged 16.3 out of the tank compared to my previous 14.5 about a week and a half ago. Definitely an improvement! I'm looking forward to seeing what my mileage will be like out of a whole tank. But now I need to figure out what I can do about keeping my air filter cleaner. Maybe I need to seal up the airbox better or a snorkel could help also, I'm not sure but I'll be looking into that over the next couple of weeks.

Do you have compressed air? I like to blow mine off after every trip, I think it lasts a little longer that way.

I believe my air filter is cleaner with my snorkel.

Just a thought, but did you remove the inner plastic fender liner up front? The air pickup tube is right above the pass tire, and the tire will fling dirt/mud right into that tube if it isn't covered. That's the main reason I got a snorkel in the first place, because my intake tube kept getting mud and dirt in it.

Kevin, I do have a compressor, I think next time I will give that a try, although it did look like some water had splashed into the air box but not too much, you could see a stain if dirt water had settled on the bottom. But I'll try that next trip.

Steve, I still have the fender liner in place, I haven't removed it yet so it shouldn't be getting a direct blow of the dirt, but since it's by the fender then it makes sense it's picking up dust anyways. Did the Snorkel make a considerable difference or minimal for the process involved?
