It's the military's Chemical Agent Resistant Coating. From what guys in Draper have told me, it's pretty nasty to work with and very unhealthy to be around while curing. It's really abrasion resistant though and will last forever.

Where does one get their hands on such “paint”?

I'm not exactly sure for civilian use. The guys in Draper just orders it through the Army system.

Worked on this from about noon to just now... not loving the results with a spray can. Too streaky for me. Tough to keep a wet edge on a hood with flat paint.

Results are pretty disappointing... I'll have to figure something else out

I dig how the grille looks.

I'll paint a hinge or something and run down and have a paint match done at an auto paint store. It'll work out. I'm not running a hood with crusty dry crumbs in the paint

I do have a very suspicious transmission leak of late ( :( ) I hope I don't have a cracked 700r4 case but it's definitely possible.
