OK. It seems like we havent gotten a good sleep in quite a long time. I was told recently that I can sleep when im dead.
F- that . Its time to get a new bed. Im kinda wary on picking one out and being dissapointed a few months later.
Id love one of those Tempra-pedic's , but at the price of a small car . Its kinda out there.
We are looking to see what black friday has on pricing. If the deals are good or not.
Lets here form you. What have ya got and are you satisfied with your sleep ???

We go through a mattress about every 6 months. It sucks. Major back issues. I have not been able to pull the trigger on a sleep number, but from EVERY one that has one, it's the only mattress to own.
Currently We have the Ikea all foam mattresses in our camper and on our bed at home. We have one that is the highest quality, and one a step below. By far the best mattresses we have owned. I prefer the step down mattress that is in our camper over the top quality on our bed.
I will not do a spring mattress ever again. As soon as my ship comes in, We will own a sleep number.

We picked up a 10" Sleep Innovations king-size memory foam mattress about 5 years ago from Amazon. Best $400 I've ever spent. Stays cool, immensely comfortable.

FYI, as far as Sleep Number beds go, you get the same benefits on their cheapest as their most expensive when it comes to back issues. You pay more for quieter pumps or nicer remotes and thicker toppers. I have had a few of them, I have a bulged disc in my lower back and the Sleep Number made life livable, best money I have ever spent. I had the cheapest one for years, I put one in my Trailer, and I upgraded to a very expensive one a couple years ago... I sleep the same on the $3500 bed as I did the $800 bed..

I was looking at a Tempur-pedic, and ended up buying a Christeli instead. Comparable construction and materials, but much lower price. http://www.christeli.com/ is the website, they regularly have sale prices too.

I've had one for the past 15 years and won't have any other.

Since mine never needs an air pressure adjustment unless someone (kid) has been jacking with it, a quieter pump would mean very little and be very seldom.

Had intelli-gel for about 8 years and I thought it was great. Wife was complaining more than usual so we went bed shopping. Ended up with sleep number i8. Greatest thing ever, I'm sleeping on a cloud! It was a big money purchase, but the last few months have been great.

we had some bed with a big pillow top when we first got married. then the pillow top got use to our body shape and we could only sleep in that one position. We then got a sleep number with a small pillow top, which the pillow top can be replaced. We love it. Yes we can feel a difference in the middle, but its not a big issue to us. My wife really liked the pillow top (old bed) but I couldn't stand how soft it was. So this is a good compromise. Although its more upfront, We don't plan on replacing it for a while. Id rather pay the money up front then to deal with mattress shopping multiple times over the same period that my sleep number lasts. we didn't get the highest model, basic one pump two controller king size, pump isn't that loud. Its been a great setup for us. on a side note, our first bed with the big pillow top, cost the same as our sleep number. We didn't even think about looking at sleep number beds when we were first buying

We bought a temper pedic like bed from RCWilley a few years ago. Its too soft. I'm sure my weight contributes but it seemed like the springs sagged almost immediately and I could feel the bump in the middle of the bed. I ended up buying a couple sheets of plywood that I stuck between the box springs and mattress which has helped but I'm still bummed that we spent the money we did and are where we are.

Something to keep in mind about the memory foam stuff. When the bed is cold (i.e. nobody has been on it) it is firm. After you lay down, or if your dog does, it softens up a fair amount. I'm lucky enough that I usually fall asleep quickly enough that I can get comfortable and then pass out before I sink too much. If my dog lays on my side, which he usually does, and I have to kick him off right before I lay down its harder for me to sleep.

I think I would be happier had we gone with the firm bed rather than the medium.

We've had a TempurPedic for about 9 years or so? I don't think I like it until I sleep somewhere else :D As far as it being worth the $, I'm not sure. They are not cheap at all but I still sleep pretty well on ours. I'm not sure when we'll be bed shopping again?

We did the 10" because it has more top squish foam, but a friend likes the 12" because it's more firm. We've had our 10" for over 5 years now, no degradation in quality. Can't beat it.

Hope I'm not late to the party, but I saved this article from a couple months ago, maybe it'll be useful to someone. Make sure to read the replies too.

I don't even know what mattress we have, but it came with my wife's bed when we got married 11 years ago. This past summer we got a memory foam topper from Costco and I HATED it at first, it felt like it was trapping all my heat against me and I couldn't sleep for crap, always woke up tired and groggy. Now I love it. We're too cheap to spend a lot of money on a mattress, so we just deal with what we have.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I guess I'm one of the few that didn't like the sleep number. We spent a few night in one at a rental house in St george. Thought it was super cool for the first few minutes, playing with it, but then quickly realized it wasn't for me. My side was super firm and my wife's side was about flat. That made the middle of the bed, where we spend a fair amount of time, :D not so much fun. Ironically our bed at home is probably more firm than soft, and we both love it. No idea what it is though.
