Might Be Leaving UT

Missoula is pretty. Glacier NP is beautiful, and you're a days drive from Banff (which is the most awesome place on the planet). Winters are long and cold though...

 I grew up in Missoula and still have quite a bit of family up there. We find ourselves up there fairly regularly for weddings and funerals.

It really is an amazing place. Within 20 minutes you can be in complete solitude, a stark contrast to the Wasatch Front. There really is nothing better than huckleberry hunting in the mission mountains in August. I don't know much about motorized recreation, but I know a lot of the land belongs to local tribes, who keep pretty tight restrictions on it's use. We frequently had to get permits to go places, and even at that only in certain times of the year.

Flathead lake is 2 hours away, and is a great place for recreation. Seeley lake is about an hour, but much more secluded.

And the chicks in Missoula don't shave

Perfect for a vegan.

Best wishes dude. Life is what you make of it, and it doesn't matter where you are.

I remember going through the Flathead/Hungry Horse/Glacier NP/Banff area as a kid. Super awesome, especially Hungry Horse.

and there will be no one as cool as DAA there.

But there will be lots of people that are colder!

Congrats on the advancement, reckon you wouldn't be going if it wasn't worth it. That country is just too dang cold for too dang long every year for my old bones! Then again, so is Davis county :D.

Still hope to see you around on a run now and then!

Looks like elements of the Montana Back Roads 4x4 Club might be willing to help me unload my trailer in Missoula.

I am hoping some elements of RME might be willing to help me load it. :)
