Nope, no lee and no rain and thunder for me that actually sounds like it would be crazy. If you did a 2nd group I might make it, depending on what time.

I totally understand what you're saying Mike, and I don't mean to discriminate. And I don't mean to imply that you need 33's and a locker to make it through the trail. Many stockers can get through, but with a group, in my expierience that ends up adding up to a lot of extra time. We took the "anyone can do it, even stockers" mentality last time, and we had 20 rigs and it took us FOREVER to get up to the top. I don't want to diss anyone, most stock rigs can make it up with a good spotter. But for a big group, the more capable, the better. So, for group 1, have either 33's or a locker. For group two, run whatever you want. If anyone wants to try and get a subaru through, go ahead. It could probably be done.

Maybe we can have a later run for those who are closer to stock specs. We'd love to camp with ya!

I don't have a preference what time the second group heads up, but you'll probably want to wait at least an hour or two behind us just so you don't have to wait too long. Anyone wanting to take more stockish rigs, or anyone who has to work late, feel free to use this thread to organize it and pick a time and place you'd like to meet (assuming you're coming on the night of the 10th). We'd love to meet up with you and camp with you.

Or you could run forrest lake that night, or run 'em both and meet up with us at the top of mineral in the evening.

anyone have any firewood they can bring? That'd be fun if we had some of those killer thunderstorms we've been having lately. That'd be a blast.

Sweet, glad to see the second group forming. Don't get me wrong, I love wheeling with as many people as I can, regardless of vehicle specs. I'm not trying to be exclusive, I'm just trying to be a better trail leader/organizer. If you've got a rig with 33's or a locker, feel free to join the first group. If not, tag along with the second group who will take their time a little more.

If you don't hate me by now, or think I'm stuck up, we would love to have you guys camp with us. If I already rub you the wrong way, I apologize, I'm just trying not to repeat what happened last time (20 rigs waiting on a trail while one stockish rig gets hung up on non-obstacles).

I like the idea of two groups with different capabilities. I'll edit the first post to include the 2nd group info. I assume you'll meet at the same Chevron at 8:30. if not, let me know.

steve at the rate everyone is joining in we might just have one group. And if there are any subaru's that want to do this trail I will drag you up the top! Actually no I wont!! And for group 2 at least 31's and some sort of lift. Stock vehicles will be declined. I would like to make it to the top.

true. Let's see how it looks a day or two before. I've got at least 3 people joining group 1 who haven't replied to this thread. If we've got low headcount the day before, we may just lump them together into one group.

Where do you work? I wasn't dissing subarus, I was just thinking of the lowest clearance vehicle that someone (stupidly) might take up there. That would sure be a stretch to see a subaru on a trail like that. I figure most 4x4 trucks have more clearance than a subaru. We gotta draw the line somewhere :)

Tomtom, did I see you yesterday at the Chevron at the mouth of AF canyon? There was a grey xj on a trailer that looks a lot like your avatar pic.

Nope, The first dead give away would be that my truck is never towed to the trail..... lol. Actually if I could I would but i dont have a truck or trailer, my xj is my DD

cool. It was doorless, and it looked like it was on 33's or 35s, definitely still streetable. I'm in the same boat as you. No truck, no trailer, so I gotta keep it street legal.

Plus trying not to break stuff takes all the fun out of hardcore wheeling sometimes :(

Sweet. I hope you get a new job and they allow you to come :p

Good luck. I think they're hiring at my work. Good pay and flexible hours, but a pretty sucky job. Plus they actually make you work and i'm not sure you could handle that ;)

Welcome 9er. We'd love to have you join us. If it's your first trail, you'll want to run with the 2nd group. If you've done rattlesnake or mini moab first, I'm sure you'll hang with the 1st group just fine.

Let's see some pics of your rig. Have you ever been wheeling before? Does your jeep have lower t-case gears? If not, it might be kinda tricky with a manual.
