This is true. Most hippies were living off of Mom and Dads hard earned incomes and basking in the glory of LBJ's 'Great Society'. When Nixon took office and started dismantling LBJ's wacko welfare state and then the depression of the 70's (a result of both the Vietnam War and the spending for the Great Society) the hippie generation was forced to get their own jobs. Once someone enters the market place and begins making their own money, generally they want to retain that money. Thus the conversion from Maxist/Leninist thinking to good old American style capitalism.
As for us 80's punks, we just learned from our parents! (Well aside from me, I would say I had more of a Leave It to Beaver upbringing than a 'Magical Mystery Tour') I say we eliminate the source of the problem. We are still young enough to change our ways!

You have misunderstood my son … there is NO wisdom that I, nor anyone else can share or give to you:

Wisdom is obtained for one’s self. It is the accumulation of all of one’s experiences with opposites, sickness/health, pleasure/pain, joy/sorrow, light/dark etc. It is life’s individual journey from some long pre-mortal existence to birth to death and beyond.

Here’s an example of how one can gain some wisdom:

Six day’s into an 8 day climb of El Cap – Zodaic VI, C3, 5.7

I lead every pitch – I gained a lot of wisdom on that one! Not one iota of which I could explain, let alone share with you. Many many more under my belt also … including some wasted days in my youth.
