potato salad worked me over for years, but these days our whole crew has lockers front and rear, and that's about all it takes to tame the tater.

as far as specs:

yj leaves,and homebrew traction bar

6.5:1 t-case

bald wal-mart 35's

It's simple, and amazingly functional.

Coil sprung vehicles do have a slight advantage though, less bouncing and slightly better traction due to articulation. I plan to walk up it this year without a locker, we shall see.

walk it? probably not.

Sometimes you can hit it just right, but traction there has a lot more to do with loose stuff making the rock slippery than with articulation.

I got a DTT up front the rear is still open. I tried to get a Detroit Locker in the rear when I regeared but the tranny guy refused to install it because the c clips needed to be grinded. "I don't do that kind of work".

So I get by with my 32" MTRs 4.10 gears and the tourqe of my turbo diesel engine. I mostly high center...... Mostly.

smashed, leaky radiator
ripped off front bumper
tweaked roll cage
passenger side hood and fender six inches lower than driver side
lots of St. George sand in places it shouldn't be
