LOL, this is great.

Wayne,, the YJ was soooo like 5 years ago,, :D

Ok, putting aside the validity of modern muscle cars.....

Is there any reason to not look at the Mustang GT's? Seems like a decent vehicle especially for the purchase price.

The new Charger is sweet, but a bit bigger and more expensive than I want. Also I am not really keen on 4 doors in a performance vehicle.

So the general feeling is to move towards a GTO?

Let me lay out the things I am looking for in a car;
Performance, fun to drive, semi-reliable, manual trans, 2 door, non-convertible, $25-26K, under 80,000 miles
Cars I have thought about/looked at in order of possibility of purchasing;
1. BMW M3 E36
2. BMW M3 E30
3. Pontiac GTO
4. Chevrolet Camaro (4th gen only)
5. Ford Mustang
6. Pontiac Trans Am

Fast-Autos.net show a 1/4 mile time of 14.something and 0-60 of under 6 seconds, that seems fairly decent to me?:confused: for the mustang gt

then cross out number 5... Honestly tho, you need to get out and test drive each car and make up your mind for yourself.

By your criteria, the GTO is out, unless you're getting one used. I'd maybe look at Subaru Sti's, seriously. Out of the ones you have listed, I think the GTO is probably the best bang for the buck.

Yeah, looking for used ones. Most I have seen are around that price range surprisingly.

I really don't like the STI's, something about the hood scoop and the massive rear wing, its not really my style.

I am really leaning towards a M3, cause they are BAD-ASS:greg: but I also like the idea of a GTO
