I can only hope so I'll be disappointed if he doesn't considering he signed the .05 into law which I believe is a complete joke.

Different topic but I laugh when people claim it will hurt tourism and make Utah look backward. When I was in Norway last year they warned us immediately their strict laws (0.02). I don't drink but it didn't seem to others- they just plan other ways home.

i don't think it'll hurt tourism people will still come and it won't reduce alcohol related deaths either. The people between .05-.08 are not the problem it's the .08 and above and our justice system that holds no one accountable for there actions.

Spot on. The alcohol legislation is a revenue generator.

I'm starting to think that the removal of inspections is going to get the UHP more revenue on fix-it tickets as well. I'm imagining them getting a little extra hyper on pulling people over for tints and such.

If your rig is legal/legit then folks have nothing to worry about, sounds logical to me. Yesterday I watched a Bountiful PD officer pull over a JK for what appeared to be big tires with no flaps, glad he was doing his job and can only hope they do it more.

I bet you break no laws, ever. :)

No, I haven't broken any laws in years as it pertains to vehicles and general driving safety, I guess I kind of grew up. I suppose having a family does that to you, and I suppose wanting safe and legal cars on the road falls under keeping my family safe. And before you ask, I have had 2 windshields chipped or cracked by other vehicles that should have had flares or flaps installed that would have prevented it.

I call bullshit on flaps preventing rock chips.

I drive over 140k miles per year. I've replaced 8 windshields in this truck since Oct 2015. All were replaced because of thrown rocks on the road. If there is shit on the road, it's gonna get picked up and thrown by traffic.

Every rock chip was from a legal vehicle (in terms of Utah inspection laws).
Every rock was from a vehicle in a different lane than mine.
Most were from passenger cars.

Can't remember the last time I got a rock chip from a lifted vehicle, but it's been over 8 years, and it had proper flaps.

Well some people depend on the government to hold their hand. Once you get used to it, its hard to go back. That's the great socialist movement for you. I'd rather people learn to work on their junk and keep it maintained. I took my Range Rover classic into a shop for a state mandated inspection. They told me my ball-joints on the axle were worn out. No possible way since it uses swivel balls on the front axle to contain the CV joint in the axle. OF course when called on their lie, they wouldn't fix the lie on the inspection form. I hate to say it, but the only time I trust mechanics, is while my new vehicle is under warranty. They never try to fix anything that isn't covered under warranty.
