Any of you have a garden? What do plan on growing this year? What have you tried to grow but was unsuccesfull? I don't know why but I thought it would be cool to discuss :D

My house came with 2 acres of field. I never thought I'd be into it, but just for fun I started my first garden last year and ended up having an absolute blast.

This year I'm going to tripple the size of my last one and try planting corn, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. What's better than eating garden fresh veggies?!?

I'm planning on planting some bushes and trees, and maybe some vines, but no garden.

Anyone recomend a good climbing vine that looks good?

It's already too late for some early spring plants ;)

I got in our first raised garden box this weekend, and the rest will be going in as soon as the snow melts

We'll be doing corn, tomatoes, raspberries, strawberries, zucchini, pumpkin, onion and potato (not Idaho) probably some other stuff I can't think of at the moment

I've got a good vine going on in my backyard. Dunno what it's called though. Has huge leaves almost like a maple tree. Dark green, with some small berries that come on in lat summer. Stuff grows like crazy. In 4 years, it's grown from a twig to fill in a 6' tall fence, about 50' long. Hides the neighbors junk rather well. Wish I could find out what it is so I could buy a few more starts for other areas.

Yes, I realize this doesn't help at all. :)

Last year I was able to grow some Artichokes, cucumbers, corn, beans, peas, strawberries, blackberries, squash, bell peppers, jalapenos, rhubarb, carrots, and some lettuce and such.. I was surprised at the artichokes as I had one plant produce some four nice flowers and were great eating. Supposedly they don't do well in Utah.

he vine if you can I like black berries as you get a nice plant with some great berries. The only downfall if you consider it is the thorns but if you use this on a fence or other structure it adds greatly to the deterrent.

Hey chad.. 10-1 says that you could make starts from your vine that you have.. take a few shoots in the spring and bury a few leaves in the ground with some coming out the other side of the hole.. in a few weeks/month it should have some roots growing.. cut it from the main plant and in another month transplant it :)

I grow corn, beans, carrots, peas, onions, squash, tomatoes, beets, melons, cucumbers, spinach, chard, peppers, raspberries, blackberries, peaches, apples, pears, grapes, strawberries, plums, lettuce, garlic, oregano, chives, and some other herbs. I love fresh garden goodies.
If anyone would like some strawberry, raspberry, or thornless blackberry plants I have plenty of extras but they need to be planted before the weather turns warm.

Do you know what varieties?

I think hops are more expensive, and take more time to mature. I'm planning on selling my house this spring once the yard projects create something worth looking at. Plus, I have shitty soil. I'd probably die if I ate anything that grew there.

The raspberries are Bear Lake, the blackberries are a very good thornless variety that will produce large berries all summer, and the strawberries are a large early summer variety that we have had in the family for many years but I don't know the name.

Hey I'll take some! Trying to get a nice garden going this year. Tilled up a section saturday, now if the snow would go away.

Hey man, I'll take what ever you'll let me have. I got a large spot this year for a garden and am ready to go. PM me some info and how much money I can give you for them. Thanks. Josh

We just bought our first house in December and we're way excited! We're planning on corn, tomatoes, lettuce, Anaheim peppers, jalapenos, green bell peppers, some herbs, radishes potatoes and a few other things. We might even plant a fruit tree or two.
