P90X

my lil bro did the whole p90x thing.. he was loosing alot of weight and he was gaining alot of muscle then he stopped, now he is a firefighter and he claims he is going to start again.. this time he wants me to do it with him.. the past 6 months have been good to me. i have went from 245-250 down to 190-195ish.. if i didnt have this hernia i would do it full time. but since i cant lift too much i have to stick to walk/running and minor weightlifting..

oh and
Holly crap I didn't realize I started this thread 15 months ago. Wow how time flies.

i think a mix of a good hard gym work out and something fun like mountain biking or rowing or hiking is best, i used to work out at the gym every morning and biked 10 to 20 miles a day on and off road and that was the best shape of my life. like what was said before eating good and being consisent is the key

Nothing wrong with trying to get back in shape.

I have been back at it for almost a year, the funny thing is I am trying to gain weight after being sick I got down to 145lbs. I am now back up to 216lbs pushing hard for the 220 mark. Working out is a life style you need to do it everyday. Its kinda like brushing your teeth either you do it or you don't. Good luck keep after it and you'll get what your looking for.

I weighted in this morning at 87.7 kg (192.3 lbs)! I was shocked. I guess when you drink NO SODA and a South Korean diet extremely heavy in vegetables it comes off pretty fast. I have been doing the P90X in the mornings and some evening running. I feel great so far and I am really looking forward to those 30 day pictures.

I'm sticking with it. It's a great program and is keeping me motivated. I am not going crazy with it. Just the exercise plan and eating better.

 I missed 2 workouts this week. Oh well, life goes on. Work has been crazy and busy. I think I have more than made up for it with running. Been trying to get in 2 miles with each weights day. I have already hit my goal of losing 10 lbs. I figured it would take the full 12 weeks while I am over here in Korea but did it in 3.

I have reached my body weight goal. So the new goal is to be able to see the striations in my legs again. I don't want to get to thin. I'd like to start adding some muscle size so I guess I will have to start eating more. It's not like I have been starving myself at all. Just lots of healthy food I guess. Mostly vegetables. Meat is not a large part of the regular diet here. :-\

One more week then I'll post some progress pictures. More for myself then you homos. :D

I have been watching some of the transformation videos on youtube and some of the changes unreal. I don't think I want to go that far with the program. I am not doing the supplements and not following the program religiously. Just normal to slightly above normal healthy and fit. Not crazy fit. My problem is I have a bit of a compulsive side and end up taking things way to far. Its the same reason I have a supercharged 5.3 in a Jeep.

I ran a 5K (3.1miles) in 30 minutes and 22 seconds. The goal was to be sub 30 minutes. Didn't quite make it. I guess I will just have to try again.

I felt great afterwards and think I could have push harder on the last mile.

We bought the insanity workout. Similar to P90x but no weight lifting and more cardio. Workouts are a killer, but it feels good. I have used both and it seems the P90x will build more muscle and the insanity will burn more fat. Bought it used off KSL for $40 for the whole kit

Two months ago I started doing Krav Maga. The workouts are killer and it's fun to learn some pretty aggressive self defense.

Plus, the other night in class I punched a cop in the face. Good times!

Official weigh in this morning was 83.65kg or 184lbs! The P90X program has taken 15lbs off of me in 30 days. It asks you to take the pictures in the morning or before a work out so you get a natural and true image of your body. My camera batteries were dying and the pictures are crappy but you get the idea. I am pretty pleased so far and excited for the next 30 days.

I'm finding it incredibly hard to stay motivated. It's not necessarily the workout but more the business trip I am on. I have been in South Korea for over 5 weeks now and have another 7 to go. It's just really wearing on me.

The lack of a good diet is killing the workouts for me. Every meal is dinning out and most of the time I have no idea what I am actually eating. I should have brought a bunch of the protein power drink mix just as a meal replacement. I wanted to do the program without "Shakeoligy" or any pills but I am kind of second thinking that now.

I am determined to stay with it. Mostly as a way of keeping myself busy and not thinking about being away from home.

A little over 45 days in and still at it. I like the progress so far. Not great but I could be doing a lot of things different. I HATE plyometrics. I think it is the stupidest workout ever. I have been subing in the Kempo or Core workouts instead. Keeps me sane. Not going to do something I don't enjoy.

So it continues...

Taking it to the top for the completion of workout day 60! Not back to military fitness levels. I didn't expect to get that fit in 60 or even 90 days after several years of sever neglect but I am on my way. I will be able to finish the program while I am still over here in South Korea and come back in time to catch a little bit of the end of summer. A fitter and slimmer me.

Congrats Hunt! Keep at it. :) I work out usually 4 days a week though I had major surgery and almost done with recovery so I havent been working out. But I havent gained any weight and I also cant wait to get back on the treadmill. I was in gymnastics for 15 years so I know how to get in shape fast without any DVDs or gym memberships. I do it all at home. Ask shane, I got his ass in shape in two months on my workout. HAHA

Anyways just keep eating healthy and working out and you will always look the way you want.

This is an excellent point and is why quick diets don't work. I know a guy who lost 100 lbs walking a lot and eating pretty much only carrots and salads. So, who wants to eat carrots and salads all the time??

Now he's gained back even more than 100 lbs and he's probably even more depressed now. :ugh:

Just finished week 10's workouts. Two weeks to go! weighed in at 177.5 lbs and loving it. Everything I have read is that you start to see the progress yourself in the 60-90 day range and it is very true. When you look in the mirror every day you don't notice the changes in yourself. But I can see a noticeable difference now.

I glad I stuck with it during this trip. It has really helped me keep what little of my sanity I have left. I understand how people get the incredible results they get when they follow the program to the letter. If I did the shakes and the supplements I'm sure I could one of those people. I can be a little obsessive compulsive sometimes.

Maybe I will do a round two with some supplemnets and see what kind of results I can get. My girlfriend wants to go to Hawaii for Christmas to see her family. I might let her twist my arm and tag along. I will need to get my swimsuit sexy on for that trip.
