Well after weeks of prep I tried to lay down some paint. I'm using a silver metalic and I must say..... it just sux! Can paint is much eaiser and comes out better. I knew going into this that the metalic would be hard, but this is just BS. The paint has laid down just like you are looking at the moon, with big crater looking spots (not indents) where I think the metalic as seperated. Also, when spraying the paint comes out in spots, kind of like small drips. Is this normal for spraying metalic?

I'll see if I can take a pic... I need some advice. I'm ready to just get a different collor....

What kind of paint? Laquer, polyurethane, acrylic enamel?

And what did you use to prep/clean it with?

Hmmmm..... Didn't someone warn you about silicone???

All you can do now is sand it smooth, and start over. Give it a couple weeks to set up a bit, then wet sand it.

Oh, and I'm only a phone call away dummy...... :D

Like Marc said, you've got to lay em on thin, very thin...

How many coats was that?

Metallics take a very light touch (esp. grays, silvers and golds).....or they 'mottle'. Looks like you have 'mottled fish eye soup'......(sand it and try it again :( )

Yup, looks like hammerite. Delete this thread and no one will know you didn't intend it to look like that.

Now that's funny!!!

Oh hell, this post will never be seen now.

You'll actually have a better and more durable paint job now with that base coat underneath. I know it sucks, but all is not lost buddy.

Can you say FISH EYE??????

Thats why there are professional painters. As they said above sand it down and start over. I don't know if I would even worry about wet sanding. That's going to need to be taken WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY down.

A hundred different places. Did anyone who ever owned it Armor-All the tires? Did anyone ever use soap on it? List everything you've ever sprayed in your gun? Any silicone in your compressor oil? Any silicone in your air hose? Gotta neighbor who uses armor-all? You cant predict it, just plan on it.

ok,

How do you remove it? I asked before about a Pre Paint cleaner and all I got was a buch of morons arguing about what to use and what not to use. The cleaner I used was one that the paint shop recommended.
