Pritchett Canyon - Memorial Weekend

Unfortunately I was unable to compete in OSRC this year, but I can't complain much because my family and I were down in Moab. Despite the rain most of the trip, we managed to have a really nice day running Pritchett Canyon on Saturday. This was the last trip for me in the ZJ since I'm selling it (unless some reason I can't sell it), and this was the first real trip for my brother (1993yj) since he swapped out his awesome D30 and 8.8 for a D60 and 14B with some 39" Krawler Red Labels.

Chewy Hill was quite slick to say the least, the Krawlers even had a tough time hooking up without some wheel speed. While we were on the obstacle a formula toy buggy pulled up alone so we told him he could go through. He slid over and ended up flipping on his lid, luckily they were all okay. We flipped him back over and then were on our way again.

Anyway, here are the pics and videos.

Every one of those rigs are extremely photogenic.

I was happy to get a Pritchett run in last week, I just enjoy that trail so much. Great rigs, nice report!

Tyler, your family has to have one of the most awesome collection of rock crawlers assembled... Very impressive group. Looks like a great trip, glad to see that you were able to abuse the Grand one last time before it sells.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Was that the first run with the struts on the YJ? How were they? I have a set sitting in the garage waiting on my next project to start.

Thanks for posting. I think Pritchett is my favorite run in Moab. What a bunch of nice, well built rigs.

It really is such a fun trail. Always changing too. I was just happy to make it straight up Rocker Knocker. I have only tried it twice before but never made it.

x2, it's good to see so many well-built rigs hanging out together.

Thanks! My dad (in the JK) got us started with this addiction. Not sure my mom is thrilled about it, but she enjoys that we do spend so much time together.

Haha thanks Greg, I don't know about that but we do enjoy them.

We took it to Little Moab first to test everything and he adjusted some things, but we do still need to address the dampening I think.

your zj is one of my all-time favorite rigs.

Thanks, I definitely like the ZJ and after trips like this it makes me second-guess my decision to sell, but I really want to build the buggy and the funds are needed for that haha.

It was the first full run. I tested them out at little Moab and adjusted the pressures a bit, but nothing major then.

Overall I like them. They ride really smooth and are super stable. They are the 12"ers and I am currently running them with only 3" up travel. I did get more wheel hopping than I want so I am going to turn up the dampening screws (they are at the lowest setting right now). I may also add another 1" to the height for more up travel to help alleviate bouncing of the internal bump stops.

Looks like fun. You've got some awesome rigs.

In the fourth picture from the top there's a white truggy and you can see an orange motorcycle in the background. What's the name of the obstacle?

I did Pritchett Canyon earlier this year and that obstacle gave me the most trouble.

That's Chewy Hill.
