First adapter finally cut for the Range Rover Classic diesel conversion. Only 2 more to cut

Well, looks like I'm going to have to cut another adapter. A guy let me borrow his pattern for the adapter. LEts just say its been a nightmare. I'm not not grateful. But everything is off. I have been able to fix most of it. But the starter hole is too close to the flywheel.

There were also loads of extra holes that didn't belong to anything, so I have been welding those closed, and fixing my AutoCAD model. I'll have another adapter cut and I'll test fit it, I think i'll have a really good starting point after that.

Damn that's some determination. Keep it up. Enjoying the build so far.
Could you elongate the top hole on the starter to give you some adjustability.????

I was thinking about doing it. but since this is a conversion kit I plan on selling, it has to be perfect. I just finished up the adapter adjustments in AutoCAD. I printed it out 1:1 scale, and all the holes line up perfect now.

Now I'm on to the flexplate adapter. Hopefully I'll have it figured out tonight.

Tested out the modified engine hoist. It worked like a champ.

Just got done cutting out the stock engine mounts because the Mercedes engine will use its stock mounts in that position. I have great clearance so far. Getting closer to firing it up.

Okay. It's going to fit nice. Unfortunately the cowl is a bit of an issue for getting into the valves for adjustment. I guess I'll figure something out. Onto the motor mounts tomorrow.

Lots of clearance everywhere else though. Love it.
