Growing up this is what camping was for us.

We stayed in our tipi for a long time, up until the poles finally dry rotted and became brittle, then my dad never replaced them.

Like you lived in it? We never went that far, dad built a rack for his 59 to haul the poles around.

I've always thought that was weird. We had elk hunters come through camp on quads this fall. They rally up, shut off and demand silence.. Whispering and everything.. Then fire up and full throttle off.
