On the 1 to 5 Moab scale, what would you rate the difficulty of Rattle Snake. Please only vote if you have actually been there. The goal is to get an accurate average of what people think the difficulty of the trail is so we can put the rating on the new sign.

I think that you guys underestimate RS, compared to Moab trail that are also rated a 3. Lets see, Fins & Things is a 3.5, 3-D is a 3, Gold Bar Rim is a 3.5+, ect... I don't know about you guys but I think that ALL of these trails are easier than RS especially AFTER all the rocks got rolled onto the trail. I would say that RS is AT LEAST a 3.5, or a 4.

I did rattlesnake more or less open. I did it open in my YJ, and I did it open in my zuk after the welded diff started differentiating again.

Rattlesnake is NOT hard.

Depending on the vehicle, you can rate it, but for me and my wheeling vehicles...it is a solid 3....and as far as being fun and length, it gets a 5 out of 10....short ....way too short, and not enough obstacles...

I think pokey says it all in this, and this is exactly why I think that rattlesnake would be a 4...goldbar, fins n'things, elephant hill, 7mile rim, top of the world...all 3+rated trails, poison spider is a 4 rated trail, yet I think rattlesnake was harder than any of them.....a stock suv (not short wheelbase, we are talking ford explorer or chevy trailblazer, nissan exterra etc) should be able to do a 3+ with careful tire placement and no damage...I doubt that any of those forementioned suv's could do rattlesnake stock..

I was the one that took my stock suspension sammy through rattlesnake..if it was a 3+, my sammy should have walked through it like it was a piece of cake ,like it has on all other 3+ rated trails in moab and some 4 rated...however my sammy had difficulties and it does have front and rear locked differentials and performance mods up the yin yang, so in my view this has to be at least 4 rated trails since I had problems on it and i have NEVER had a problem in a stock rig on a 3+ rated trail ,yet I had problems on rattlesnake getting my sammy through..

ok now back on track....

I think a rating of 4 would scare away some of the sissy's with boulder arranging winches. It would deter people from paving the place a-la-lower helldorado.

rate it a 4 and be done with it.

What is the difference between a 5 and a 5+? Isn't 5 already off the scale, what's the point of having a + after it? Curious......

Just like any trail, you can make it as hard as you like. This trail in my opinion, based on how easy I was able to do it, should be about a 3, maybe 3+.:)
