Wow, you were so close on the Eagles Nest. Looks like I went a week too soon. There was a river coming down that the week before (14th). Bummer about the steering but the buggy looks like it's working well.

Stranger did you finally get a chance to go up it then? How long did you have to wait?

No I never got a shot at the nest. I putted through the rapids then turned around.

I went back and drove up Waynes World though. The line was not nearly as long as it was when we were there the first time.

You and me both, I have tried and tried.... Either I need stickier tires or bigger tires.

I took the steering box apart as best as I could and it is waisted in a major way. The bearings where fine so I know it wasn't that. As soon as I can save up some pennies I will be at it again.

So what broke in the box? Bummer it's broken just as you get it running again.

Well. I'm not sure what it is called so we will call it the pitman arm shaft. It has these three or so gears that hook up to what I think is called the selector shaft. One of the gears on the pitman shaft are broken.

I think, and I really hate to do this, but, I'll just buy a rebuilt one... :-\

The pitman arm attaches to the sector shaft, which sounds like you broke. The teeth of the sector engage the teeth on the piston.

Bummer, but not a tough fix. I guess when you recover from the latest upgrades, maybe full hydraulic steering is in your future????
