Brett & Steve came over and helped out on Saturday (thanks again guys!). The virus is attacking my system restore files and moving itself around during the virus scans. Its attacked Firefox (we reinstalled and in minutes it was already monitoring it). I've got PC Tools, AVG and McAfee running scans and they are constanly finding the same ones in different places. It keeps quarantining files, to the point system files I need are quarantined. Reboot time.

Brett, do you have the disks I need? Steve checked my XP and its a legit copy, so I just need the disks to reload it and Office hopefully.

Kinda sad you didnt call me! I was pretty sure that had a legit copy on it, due to it being an OEM computer I bought form Best Buy.

Next time dont hesitate to call me Kurt! I would fix ya up personally! You should know my number :)

lol It has a motherboard sound card! I told you how to fix it :) Microsoft makes you email them for the hotfix, and then they prepare it as a download... but its been so long now that I would have to do it again! I think i just need your address ill order one from newegg and have it sent to your house! That sound ok? :) They are pretty cheap! Ill foot the bill, just wanna make you a happy man!`

No worries, needless to say I'm not using this computer right now :rofl:

Rusted actually gave me a sound card to install. Thats one of the things I hope to get done with this re-boot.

Oh and for better news. As I was transferring files off of this desktop onto my USB external drive... McAfee popped up and said it was infected :sick::sick: Hoping I don't lose much :eek:

I'm a whole new man! :cool:

Computer is back, wiped and reloaded. Steve helped me network all my computers, remote all my computers, map this, map that, juke box, archive, etc, etc, etc. Life is soooo much simpler! Thanks a ton everyone for all your help, suggestions and advice. And a huge thanks to Steve for his phenomenal patience dealing with a computard like myself. You would be proud, I was able to network "The Dude" to my workgroup and I'm archiving all of the files now :cool:
