well 19.5 will give you a better load rating i would say it is like everything it all comes down to cash changing tires and wheels doubles the cost but buying 2 sets of tires to 1 cost also for what you have stated you use the rig for it would be my opion to go 19.5 a good A/S tire and sipe them

When i think of recovery...
I think BIG, Tough and something you can depend on. Tons of cargo space for gear and tools.

This guys truck in this video is a prime example of my thoughts...

I have watched most of this fellas videos. I love the truck but, I don't agree with his choice of tranny. I suppose that is what came in the truck and that is fine but, I bought my truck specifically because of the four speed manual tranny. I also had to keep in mind that my truck is also going to be used for hunting. A wrecker bed would not do me much good with an animal on it.

Larry's Towing has an early 70s Chev set up similar to that.

I would love to see it. I was really close to buying a late sixties and into the seventies chevy.

Thanks Bart. The truck is in Utah right now. I could not find the time to work on it here so I took it to Utah to be worked on. Funny how life gets in the way sometimes.

Ive been working on the truck some.

LT got this frame boxing kit for the steering box. Pretty cool setup.

You use the plate as a template to drill the holes

Then weld bushings into the holes and thru the plate. And then the plate to the frame.
I like it!

And the 400 is out of the way

Looking damn good can't wait to see this done. I have some extra parts you could have coils, head lights and misc. Stuff. I did the hei conversion so I don't need the coils and the head lights wont work with the dove nose.

Time for a small update. On Thursday I ordered a Borgeson steering shaft from Summit Racing, and a cross over steering set up from Off Road Design. Summit Racing has already come through and their part was delivered on Saturday. I also emailed Chris from FOA Shocks to place my order for them as well. I guess that is all I have.

yup. Its still at my place. Ive been working on cleaning up the motor and getting it ready to go in. Oil pans need swapped and we are going to have to do something about the brake booster. Im thinking of finding a smaller one to clear the valve covers.

Should have some update pics this week

Are you putting a 440 in it? You probably already know this but there is a ton of info over on ramchargercentral.com . I have seen the topic about swapping the 440 and booster issues quite a few times. I want to say that a booster from a 1 ton will work but I can't remember for sure.

My rc had a 440 swapped in. I have the smaller booster and I still have to loosen the booster to get the valve covers off.

Thanks for the kind words y'all. If I remember correctly we either need to swap the booster over to a hydro boost, or install a small body lift. Cheston is in charge of making the calls now since he has the first hand knowledge of what is going on. I think the cross over steering should be there the first part of this week. I hope to have the headers ordered in two weeks. (I have to wait for another pay day). Cheston has been working real hard on this and I can't find the words that are appropriate to thank him.

The 440 is almost ready to drop in. I have been having a hard time finding clutch parts for it. I just got the flywheel today and the clutch will be here next tuesday. I was hoping to have it ready to go in tomorrow...:(
