I did the oil cooler on my F350 last year as a preventative measure. The end caps were a bear to get it back assembled. I was worried that I would crack them, but using the press it finally went back together. I believe that I used the Dorman kit. Let us know how it goes.

At the time I also replaced the radiator as one of the tanks had a crack, so it was convenient to drain all the coolant at once for both jobs. I replaced the coolant with some CAT ELC; I've been running it for the past 15 years, no SCAs to maintain. Rush's in Farr West carries the ELC.

Very nice. I used CAT elc in my IDI for years it’s great stuff.

I had a hell of a time getting the caps back on mine as well. I used a floor jack and the receiver hitch on the truck to press them together—haha I know but it worked in a pinch.

Talk about a mess! I was soaked head to toe in coolant and oil. But I’m glad it’s done the old orings were crusty and brittle so they were on borrowed time for sure.

Spent a long weekend down south with my daughter. She just turned 15 last month I cannot believe how quickly time goes past.

Tinky was a rock star! Drove from the northern tip of the state to the southern border without any issues and not breaking a sweat. I had some anxiety over it anything can happen with you take a 24 year old vehicle on a long trip—especially a Ford lol!

We just took the tents and it was awesome. I do need to figure out a way to power my ARB fridge off the truck though as we took a cheap cooler and that part kinda sucked.

Tinky hauled us out west last weekend—good times! My little getaway has been found out—campers everywhere. Times are changing I guess 🫤

Getting serious about slide in campers. Leaning towards mid 2000’s Northland campers (without a slide) they have a great floor plan and seem to be well built.

I have air bags do you think I’d want to add a rear sway bar on this ol’ girl? 🤔

I have air bags on my truck but I like to let the truck ride about 1 inch above the overload leaf so that acts as my sway bar. If I go to high with the air bags it sways back and forth too much.

Well uh we went a totally different route from the slide-in idea haha. A looong time ago (15 years?) I had a rooftop tent and we put it to good use and really enjoyed it—we took it everywhere on the back of a second gen Dodge diesel. Hoping it’ll work for us now that we’re older. Wife won’t sleep on the ground anymore and I decided I didn’t want to bomb around the places I like to explore with a huge/heavy camper in the bed.

Found a basically brand new Thule/Tepoopie Autana 4 with annex room for a great deal. Built a rack yesterday in the rain. Remembered I’m not a great welder or fabricator 😂. It’s high enough that I still have plenty of bed space and it’s low enough that it won’t be a parachute driving in the wind.

Might try it out this weekend we’ll see. You can tell it’s a 7.3 by the oil spots in the driveway.. if they don’t leak they’re probably out of oil 🤣

That’s right I forgot I’m neighbors with your parents. Speaking of Sky View! my daughter goes there now. Man I’m getting old 😭

Happens pretty fast. A good friend of mine still drives the activity buses. He'll probably be eligible to retire from the Cache School District soon? I believe almost all of my friends that are local cops (Cache Valley) have retired and some have taken other cop jobs. Others are struggling to find something to do

I'll be up there for the car show. If you hear a rowdy Buick running down the street on Wednesday the 28th, I'm picking up or dropping off my dad for the Cruise In Poker Run.

Heck ya I’ll keep an eye out. I heard there’s a hot rod theme restaurant in bear lake now that’s pretty cool. Might have to check it out while you’re over there.
