Rubicon Shakedown Run #3: Hanging Tree Trail

You guys are welcome to camp in my back yard if its more easier for yall, I have plenty of back yard to park and camp in, and its quiet.

That sounds good to me. I'm still trying to figure out when I can get away tomorrow and where the other folks are gonna camp, and what, exactly, I want "camping" on this trip to look like. Maybe a hotel with a pool in Ephraim? I'm towing, so if I camp/park at your house, how many miles to the trailhead and how many back from the end? Is there trailer parking at the trail? Has this already been discussed?

I think the safer play for me here would be to give up my spot for someone who wants to go. I know it's last minute but with my undetermined schedule tomorrow night I don't know if I'll be able to get enough sleep.

With there being another group going Sunday this also gives me time to swap my drag link, I wish I had known about the possiblity of me working this weekend much sooner. If I do have to work saturday I will likely have to work sunday as well and as of right now it's not looking good for me.

I know it's short notice but if someone who wants to go can make it you can have my spot.

there are plenty of spots. Davy is out, and Skippy most likely won't make it. There are more open spots than there are people who want to run it. I hope you get to run the trail this weekend Brian.

Me too Steve, I really hate to bail at the last minute, luckily I know you understand. I am still going to try and make the Saturday run though if I can, but if I get out of work too late I just don't think it would be smart to do it on such little sleep.

My house is probably 6-7 blocks from Maverick, which is probably 3.5-4 miles from the trail head, Im driving my buggy from my house to maverick then to the trail. there is trailer parking both at my house and at the trail head. The trail is about 10 minutes from my house. my house is also 1 block west of the hotel on the south end of town. If they are camping up manti canyon, they are probably 15-20 minutes to manti, then another 10-15 minutes to Ephraim then another 10 minutes to the trail ...total 45 minutes to the trail head. Manti Canyon is much more Scenic than my white trash back yard my wifes been hounding me to clean up...LOL

Sorry for the loss man

Thanks!!! He passed away from Colon Cancer and was only 34 years old. He left two kids age 5 and 7. He fought hard for 2 1/2 years, but just couldn't get the upper hand. Cancer is such a bad disease!!! I really hate to miss this trip, but I need to be with the family this weekend. You guys have a great trip!!

just an fyi steve. the manti community campground is literally about 7 miles from the start of the dirt road. i was almost lost cause i didn't know where i was going. when you go over the cattle guards, yer almost there. you will see the resevior on the right and almost after that the entrance is on your right. have fun you guys, and now that there is not a lot of people going i'm so super mad that i still can't go. but i've found a job working for fed ex and will be getting money, but i won't have saturdays off or half the day so ill be going on a lot of nighter runs or monday runs..

you're good, I thought it was a joke. If there really is a james garner coming, and he's meting us at the maverick, that's even funnier.

I just heard back from james and he said he is planning on going and he will meet you at the maverick at 730 am, I guess I just don't understand the joke.
