If feasible on my end. Would it be possible to meet up with you guys saturday morning and ride with someone? So I can sort of get a feel for the trail? And I know it matters about driver skill but if I could ride with someone close to my build level that would be awesome. I do understand if this can't happen this time out just throwing my interest out there.

I'd be happy to let you ride along with me. Based on your sig, my TJ will end up very similar to yours (4" lift, 35s, 4.56, dual lockers).

Everyone on this run will have 35-42" tires.

 Looks like I'll still be the low rider.

So how are you envisioning this happening? I'm told there are no passing spots on the trail, so that introduces a traffic conflict, as it were. The way I see it, there are two possible scenarios:

#1: group A goes all the way up the trail, then waits at the top (relaxes? has lunch?) until group B arrives at the top. At that point, group A heads back down; group B hangs out and kills time on their own until they are eventually ready to head back down.

#2: group A goes all the way up the trail, maybe takes a quick break, then heads all the way back out. Once they are off the trail, group B then starts their own in & out run.

What do you think?
Neither of those scenarios would work as it takes a full day a group to go through it.

i like the idea of 2 groups going. cause i wouldn't camp down, but i would love to run the trail again. and i could definitely make the "later" run, for group b.. just sayin. and i might have a local that will might be able to open it up for us..

Thanks. I'll keep you posted if I can make it. I'm also planning on running the previous two weeks also. So I can plan, where would I be able to meet up with you guys?

yep, only way two groups in one day is any different than an oversized one, is if the first group is a buggy group and they leave at day break and have no complications, otherwise the second group becomes the night shift. Im going to keep my mouth shut on rig or participant limitations, doesnt much matter to me, all I require is that you show up with a great attitude and respect for the trail and sport that we are participating in. the rest Ill leave up to the trail ride organizer.

-one more thing.... The only reason this trail is still open is because many of you on RME, members of U4WDA and others signing petition and or calling, emailing and mailing County commisioners there love for the trail, and why they should keep the trail open. Commissioners told me in a meeting that they where close to allowing the Canyon to be gated off because they thought no one cared either way until there email was crashed by us....so....If Im leading you on the trail my request is that you are or become a member of one of the groups U4WDA, BRC, or USA.All. or commit to signing petition or emailing responses to future trail closures.

Well everyone else is putting their 2cents in and I was feeling left out so here is mine. Sounds like there is a lot of interest in this trail for this day..... First off, this trail would be very difficult with only a rear locker. Although a single front locker would be better than just a rear locker IMO.. This trail is 90% ran in the water, so the first guy gets the dry obstacles and everyone else gets the slick mud and there are many spots that you need to at least get the front end up in order to take a strap. I have taken smaller rigs (33's) through without a problem, but they did have lockers at both ends. If you are willing to listen to a spotter, stack a few rocks and take a strap, you should be able to get through the trail without too many issues. As for the length of the trail, I usually start the trail at 10 am and get to the top around 4 pm with well built rigs. So, I believe you can do two groups 2 - 3 hours apart and may not see each other all day. (As long as there are no breakdowns, but that is always the question.)

Looks like the decision has been made to keep just one group. There is a chance I may have to work that day, so there maybe one position available. I will post up just as soon as I know so people can plan on it.

Any seats available for this trip? I live 5 minutes from the trail, but have yet to go on it :( My TJ isn't anywhere near ready to run it, but I'd love to ride along if there's a spot somewhere. I realize you guys don't know me from Adam (although I've probably seen rockreligious around town...), but I promise I'm not a total weirdo.

There are much cooler rigs to ride in, but I've got a spare seat. You're welcome to ride along with me if you'd like. I'd see if you can get a ride in one of the buggies.

Thanks Steve. Maybe the best thing to do is just show up at the trail when you guys are ready to roll and see what's available. If it turns out that you're all full, I'll just wander north a half mile and see if I can't find any rockchucks to introduce to my 220 Swift that morning...
