Well hopefully this won't keep me from going but I just got back from the doctors office and he was pretty sure I tore something in my hand. Hopefully I can get in to the specialist soon and get it sorted out and I will do everything in my power to not miss this trip. I'm still on for sure right now unless I have to have surgery and I can't work it around this trip.

man, that's bad news Brian. How did you tear it?

Changing an alternator belt on the wife's Nissan. I could only squeeze two fingers in there and when I pulled I had a very painful pop. I've let it go since Monday but today when it wasn't better I figured I'd better go see a doctor.

Well good and bad news. Bad news is the Air Force is going to take it's sweet time getting me the needed appointments to get this taken care of. I guess torn muscles/ligaments are not a big deal to them. This is just something I've grown to get used to.

Good news is by the time they get around to taking care of this it will be long after this trip and probably the Rubicon run as well. Now if I do break something on the trail I won't be able to use my left hand for much so I would need help fixing anything, luckily I don't see that being a problem for anyone. Basically I just have zero strength in my hand but I can still use it for most stuff.

Well that is definitely a mixed blessing. But as you already mentioned, you'll have no problem getting a extra hand or two.

After a long wait on my work schedule, it looks like I will have the day off and able to go... I have also spoke to Sixstingsteve about the amount of interest in this trail, so if there is enough interest, I can lead a second group through the trail starting at 10:00 am. That will give Steve's group a big head start and if we see them at all, it will be at the top. But, if not enough interested, then I will be staying with the original group.

post #1 is up to date.

Meet at 7:30 at the Hanging Tree trailhead.

Are we meeting at the Trail head at 7:30? does everyone know where the trail head is? we usually meet at Maverick in Ephraim just because its easy to find. If you guys are all camping together and convoying to the trail head I suppose this is best.

ok, let's do the Maerick in Ephraim at 7:30, that works better. I've updated post #1 with a map to the Maverick. I assume most people are camping with us overnight.
