Sage Riders Chimney Rock Enduro October 3, 2015

Great race!definitely challenged my fitness level. I've never seen so many flat tires :)
I rode too conservatively and don't think I placed very well.
Thanks for the great race Paul and all the sage riders.

Also, it was great to meet DJ, Rick and Hunter.

Do the preliminary results show time penalties?

The time checks got thrown out because we did not have the man power at the gas check to manage it properly for the way it was set up. We definitely could have done some things differently that could have alleviated it, but hind sight is 20/20. Course markings was an unforseen challenge that I wish I would have had the time to proof prior to the race. We had a horrible wind storm come through Friday that started about 10 am and lasted off and on until around 4. It really wiped out a lot of our markings. I had to send groups of people out to fix and re mark the entire course. Because everybody marks differently and we did not have time to have one person re ride the whole thing after, we ended up with some marking that was inconsistent.

I glad everybody had fun.

Here is all four of my test from Chimney Rock...I was on minute 4 and missed the first test...so test 1 is most riders test 2, and test 4 is Paul's A test.

That makes sense about the course markings...they definitely weren't the usually Sageriders course markings (Sage Riders courses are usually marked VERY well). Oh well, we all had to race the same course and same course markings...I need to not be a sheep and follow the course markings, and not tire tracks and I wouldn't have gotten lost at all.

Officials (Neil and his son) were marking departing times for all of the C class out of the gas check, but you're right they weren't able to mark them for A and most of B class.

I guess I'm just bummed because I scored really well on Test 1 and was one of the few that paid enough attention to my time in the transfers to not get any time penalties at gas check. Which as a result pushed me back a bit.

I'm not by any means upset at how I rode, or the course, I had a great time!
And thanks for the explanation.

It probably equally helped as many as it hurt, but the rules call for it to be thrown out if it unfairly penalizes riders.

Hunter and I had a great time! it was good to meet so many great people, Hunter's skill level has increased by leaps and bounds but it is his excitement for the sport that i am liking the best, Hunter and I have found a new father son activity and i am behind him all the way!
