I wanna see that. Let me know when you head out there with your new Power Wagon. (It would probably do pretty well considering it's a stocker.....but I still haven't seen the whole trail)

"The Charles book" is just one of many that have been writen on the subjects of MOAB, RUBICON, and trails all over the country that have been covered by all sorts of different authors  , Once again I am not trying to PISS people off, I can dish it, and take it the same , its all good, don't let the panties get all wodded up :D

Remmember  , I feel the same way you guys do about the "BYPASS ISSUE" It urks the livin $H!+ out of me when someone builds an interstate to go around a technical obstacle :mad2: . I Get bored myself if a trail is even rated less than 3.5 (when out to wheel) :(

I am nothing more than a Point of View

I agree with everything that has been said so far, but there is something else that hasn't been mentioned yet. what about those wahoos that are constantly changing the trails, rolling more rocks on it, to make it harder. I am sorry, but not all of us have deep pockets to afford D60's, coilover suspensions, and all that other fancy crap. I thought that four wheeling meant group spirit and challenge to get through hard trail, in some of those buggy rigs you can do trail asleep and not even feel a bump. I personally am not trying to overbuild my Rodeo, therefore I need to pick different lines than some. Nonetheless I still have as much fun as the next guy that is into his rig abt $40k (I also know limits of what my vehicle can do, and I will attempt each obstacle three times, if no dice, I just go around, no sense in breaking down and slowing and pissing a lot of people off). Just because someone is careless and it digs a huge hole with his 44's is it bad to stack some rocks so people with 33's can get through? Just my 2 cents.

I think you should stack rocks and stay within the bounds of the trail (avoiding bypasses at any cost)........However, I also think it's appropriate to restore the trail to the state that it was at before your road-building exercise

IMO... ( :p ) people need to educate themselves about a trail before running it & respect the fact that it may currently be out of their leauge. Do we really need to list every item you need, including tire size, to run a trail?? Of course not, that would be assinine! That's what the trail rating is for.

If your buddy tells you that you can take your vehicle somewhere and you have never seen the trail before, is that smart? Would you just jump in your rig & attempt Upper Proving Grounds if you've never seen it before? Hell no!! Why? Because though you may be able to drag, scrape & pull your vehicle thru, but at who's expense are you doing this? Yes, your vehicle will probably be damaged & you can live with that. But what about the damage caused to the trail, to get your ill-prepared rig thru? What about all the people behind you who WANTED a trail rated 5, that has become less due to all the people who took bypasses, filled in the killer obstacles, etc.

I had a TJ on 33's... opened diffs & Teraflex suspension. Nothing too special, but it could go up & down Rattlesnake w/o a problem. Did I try Constrictor? Nada... I knew I would be in way over my head, so I walked & watched the better prepared rigs go up it.

WEELIT, I know this rant may seem directed at you but it's very general. I'm getting sick of seeing what once was an insane trail get turned to a sunday drive. People taking the easy way just sickens me. If you can't run the very first section of the trail, up the wash, then STAY OUT! It only get's harder!

End of rant...

:)

BAM! , Thats what i'm talkin bout :D

Some people just get it

I do not feel that I am being picked on :-\ , I am just one of those people who see's everybody telling everybody HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE as completley out rageous I dont care about the flippin tire size, People will continue to say "Maybe I can do it if I try" so this will always be an issue unless we educate those who are new on "edicate"

It was guys with the Nicely Built Rigs and Buggys on the TRIO in Moab freakin out when I pulled up in a relitivly stock looking WJ,... and ran the entire trail with out holding people up or BASHING my $H!+ that made me realize Three things, People will always JUDGE a book by its cover, the RIDE is only 10% of the equation, and I could give $H!+ less whether or not you guys go off on me :D

ok for us people that wheel our daily drivers because we dont have all the money in the world like some of you do, we try to have fun. Fun does not mean to ruin the trail. So i guess since i wheel my daily driver i cant run any trails :greg: :greg:

For those NEWBIES on this board.

Rattle Snake was the only trail close that could offer a great day of moderate wheeling. Some thought that it would be nice to make the trail a little harder and some rocks Accidentally fell on to the trail. This caused quite a pissing match. A short time later, Constrictor was founded and introduced to this board to offer those that wanted a little more than just Rattle Snake. It worked, Rattle Snake has remained some what untouched since the Con was introduced. Now, the Freekin people that winned about making Rattle Snake harder are making the Con eaiser............. :-\ WTF!!!

Do you really think I give a **** to what you think about ME rolling some rocks on the Con or blocking off an entrance that Should Not Even Be There!?
Read the signs, The Con is Rated 5.

explain to me why someone with a designated trail rig, by some way has all the money in the world.

personally it has taken me along time to get my stuff to the point it is, and not as much money as some would think.

I believe thou with the explosion the sport has seen in popularity. It has hurt it in a way. You have these people (IMO) who have failed to learn to drive. And prefer to throw money at there rig to make it more capable. There are guys out there that have been wheeling (lets say the rubicon) for years with very minimal equipment by todays standards, and kickass, but they know there limits.

I have run trails all over the west with rigs that have shocked the hell outta me by what they were and what they could do.

I also took a jeepster(on 33x9.5's with full body work and a locked dana 27 frontend) thru prichett in may, that if I had not seen him run other trails earlier, I would have told him to stay off prichett. simply because his tires where too small, and to my suprise that day he took a strap only twice, once on the drop off going in(high centered) and on rocker knocker(tires too small).

and if the ride is only 10% of the equation, I guess that means my daughter can out drive most people.

ps,

I doubt that the individuals that introduced this trail to this board will do it again. There are more, and they will be kept under the hat unless WE can control the stacking.

is it morally wrong for me to want to have a rock unstacking party at rs/con? i say we move all the rocks that were stacked to make stuff easy, and place them in front of that bypass? is that bad? i think everyone knows the trails have been sissified! if it isn't "wrong", who's in??
we could combine it with a cleanup.
I could bring a trowel and some mortar...

I wheeled the **** out of my first jeep and it was a DD until I had a truck to drive.
