85 4runner, limited cargo space, 38.5" sx for a spare.

I recently 4-linked the back of the 4runner, which in turn, caused me to lose my rear tank mounting location. The 4-link does not allow the stock tank to be used either.

I now have a 20 gallon tank in the bed, along with tools, trail spares, fluids, etc. To get my spare in the back, I would have to lose most of my rear visability.

I will have a tire repair kit, co2 tank, and another vehicle with me at all times.

So what are your thoughts?

Your running sx's. Why even have a spare? ;) You could run the whole week on a flat and not even know it they're so tough.

Duct tape it to the roof. If its loose on the trailer, it will dissappear. If you leave it home, Murphy's law will be in force and you will split the side wall.

Im not going down till EJS 4th - 9th. I will do my best to get everything arranged so I can haul it. (just to make me feel better) But if its not an option, it will get left in the truck at camp.

Thanks guys!

I would vote for having it in the same town as you. Worst case scenerio would be having someone go get it for you and you having to wait a bit before getting off the trail. In my opinion it's always better to be safe than sorry. :)

What makes me a bit sad though is the fact that you really should probably chain down during EJS. Ours just floats around on the trailer, but EJS is a completely different story.
