Should I?

If you know your going to end up with a buggy thats where I would focus, and save for. If your not going to end up with a buggy an XJ or a ZJ is a great direction to go, yes they are unibody but you can plate it, and next time you find a $300 XJ body laying around find a place to hide it in the back yard so down the road when the doors no longer shut you can swap it out in a weekend.
 
I think it'd be cool to have a ROC like the F-toys, where everyone is in the same rig and it all comes down to driving skill at that point. Maybe its own class at KOH, with super strict rules.
