Here we are in Chit-chat. There won't be a whole lot of building at the moment, but I like a thread to keep track of what I've done to my vehicles.

Maintenance:
7/16/13 - oil change
7/27/13 - Spark plugs (wires looked fine)
7/27/13 - Fuel Filter
8/5/201 - switched to mobile 1 synthetic oil @ 109,500.

Mods:
9/14/13 - new wheels/tires. 105k

How I bought it:

I picked it up on Friday, July 12th from a DEALER! I can't believe it, I never buy stuff from the dealer. But he waived the dealer fees as long as I paid sales tax and did the DMV work myself. No problem. It even came safety and emission done, so that was nice.

The good:
1999 Miata MX-5
103k miles
5-spped
Torsen rear diff
Nardi steering wheel
non-abs
pw
pl
cc
power antenna

The bad:
severely ripped top
clear coat peeling on hood

2 days after I bought it, I took it on a drive up Hobble Creek with Stephen in his miata. It was a fantastic drive. Probably my favorite drive in Utah. It was fun and twisty, awesome scenery, and not crowded at all.

Stephen's Miata is WAY WAY cleaner than mine.

Stephen ended up playing Cattle Driver most of the night.

I'm not a big chrome wheel guy. I've been digging the dark bronze wheels on dark cars lately. So I had my brother render me some versions:

Hm... which one do you like?

it would definitely look good if it sat 1" lower, but that's going to have to wait.

I'm digging the bronze. I think it'd look best if it were a bit darker. Kind of a mix between the flat black and bronze. I also like the black wheel look a lot. I'll be swapping out the black top for a tan top soon, so that may change things.

Convertibles rule.

The wheels you've got look more like textured aluminum than chrome, is that just the light? I think some real shiny chrome would look great, but if not, I like the bronze.

Bronze wheels for sure! Im not a big fan of them usually, but it works with the color of the car. Black is too common and white is out of place with the car color.

Just my thoughts.
