have fun Dave, you're going to love it. How many days are you taking to do the trail?

We'll spend at least two full days/nights on the trail, maybe a third day if we feel like it. Going to try and go do some other stuff in California after we get off the trail, before coming home, so we'll probably only spend the two days though.

Just took a quick glance at that pirate thread - thanks for that, I'll scope it out more later. That was the first time I've been tempted to click a link to pirate in I can't even remember how long.

Never swam in Snows, but I have swam in Cove lake. I'm sure it's quite a bit warmer than Snows.

I would think Snows or Blue lake would be a great 'cold water challenge' since there is still snow up there 100 yards away, I was the first a few weeks ago to drive a full size truck through the snow drift on the main road. made my family get out. you know that ones cold.

Wish I could say the same Eric. I'm gonna have to back out. I'll be on stand-by that weekend and have to be within an hour of work all weekend.

Have we decided on routes and camp locations? Debating on whether to haul my new kayak or not, too. I may need a maiden voyage in it first before I drag it out too far. :)

If anyone would like to ride instead of drive, I have tons of passenger and gear space.
Steve, you planning to start on 6 or go up from Fairview?

I don't say this lightly, be very watchful for deer on 31, they start coming out around 6 pm and aren't scared of cars by any means. I have come to a complete stop just a few feet from them many times up there before they finally moved off the road. And also watch for the sheep herds as well, they were crossing 31 by the weather station a few weeks back and the sheep dog almost charged the Montero. You guys have fun though, great fishing up there and lots of wildlife, be prepared for any kind of weather.

How does this route look for Friday night? I'll update post #1 once we've decided on a location and time.

I'm thinking meet at my house or Cabelas at 5 PM and leave from there. Arrive at Logger's lake by 7:30 PM for fishing, dinner, and camp.

It looks like a 5 hour drive if we want to go all the way across skyline drive back to highway 6 on Sat. I probably won't be game for the entire thing, but at least part of it.

I'll be driving up Ephraim canyon and will meet you all at camp. They are both smallish, but can get a SUP on them. I haven't been to loggers this year, but its usually a little bigger.

Sounds good, we may take Ephraim canyon as well. Will one lake be busier than the other? Do you have a preference? I'm open for anything.

They will both be pretty open in the evenings. Snow's sits in a large bowl, so camping may be better at Loggers or near one of the surrounding tree stands.
