Thanks, No real hurry It adds character
I'll check on that Scout.
well after some well deserved comments about my skinny pedal usage I now have a new user ID
Yes this guy was in the wrong for taking that short cut, maybe we should put a sign up down there the next outing, i went up that once thinking it was a trail, "i mean come on it looks pretty well used" I got chewed out on here also and have learned and now i check to make sure where i can go.theres alot of newbies which we all were at one time that just dont know what is and what is not a trail, i will be going out there in a couple weeks and if nobody has put up a sign I will.
Did you know that anytime anybody drives down to Wayne's World they are not on a trail. When we (Chili and me) first found the obstacle we were driving through and over the sagebrush to get there. So anytime you see a picture of rigs on Wayne's World they left the trail. If you ask me I see nothing wrong with the bypass up the hill.
this my be true but if you need to take a bypass to Waynes World then you really don't need to go any further up the trail do you.If you can't make it up Waynes World you have no excuse other then to turn around and go out the way you came in.there is nothing above Waynes World but more obstacles that you will not able to go around.well i guess this is not true anymore considering that people who think they belong on Constrictor try to work their way up the trail widening it to the point its a driveway till you get to Eagles Nest.hell even that is breaking apart to the point that a truck on 31's and open open will be able to do it without an challenge with in the next year or two.
I have no problem with learning and yes it does have to be done some where. There are signs at the beginning of both Rattlesnake and constrictor that clearly state what you will need to complete the trail.but how many time have i gone up there only to see a bunch of illiterate asshats that are on a trail they clearly do not belong on.
i moved here three years ago i found rattlesnake and drove up it .i was locked both front and back on 35's.i went to Waynes World and tried that.hell i even made it up it after a long fight.i got to the beginning of Constrictor ,read the sign got out of my jeep and walk the entire trail.could i have tried it yep.could i have made it to Eagles Nest yep.did i try nope.i didn't go up Constrictor till i had moved up to 36"s and full width axles because i knew better.
it breaks down to common sense and the main problem is that most people of the world lack it anymore.
I agree that these trails need to be respected and the rigs on them should be able to finish them, but if you give this incident ( an honest mistake in my opinion) so much attention why am I not seeing more attention givin to a person who drives onto a covered mineshaft?
I guess I don't understand. Friday was my first time to the 5 mile pass area. We ran rattlesnake, then turned down the trail to run WW, then back on the trail at the top of WW to run Constrictor. Are you saying that by going to WW we were off the trail, or by going straight and not hitting WW we would have been off the trail?
I'm not sure I agree with the comment about turning around if you cant run WW. What do you think Constrictor would be rated if the big water fall was not there? Not the 5 that it is, maybe a 3 or 3.5? Almost any rig could run the entire trail with a winch or a winch in the group. IMO.
Are there any other trails as good or better close by?
