Likely taking one for the team to make sure his spot if filled by the current administration. They have to see the writing on the wall that the next administration will likely not be from the Democratic party. They honestly probably won't have the votes to push a nominee through after the mid terms. This is the safest option to keep this spot for the left.
The left is saying Breyer has been ready to retire for years.
I can't agree more on the last two court nominations. They almost word for word switched sides. It was a joke.
Do not understand statement about "last two court nominations"?

Feel free to continue the ridicule. :)

I know there are other discussions out there on it, but this should scare everyone who loves their freedom. People have become so mind numb to what the media says, that they do not even pay attention to what is really going on around them and write everything off as a conspiracy theory.

Sooooo, did world war 3 just start?

Putins comments seem pretty scary to me:

"whoever tries to impede us, let alone create threats for our country and its people, must know that the Russian response will be immediate and lead to the consequences you have never seen in history."

"no one should have any doubts that a direct attack on our country will lead to the destruction and horrible consequences for any potential aggressor." "Russia is one of the most potent nuclear powers and also has a certain edge in a range of state-of-the-art weapons."

World War III didn't just start, but the first major land war in Europe since the end of WWII did. It is scary for what it portends. If the West doesn't stand up to this aggression by at the very least turning Russia into a pariah state like North Korea and arming the Ukrainians to the teeth with every spare bullet we have; then it won't end with Ukraine.
The US (and NATO) will not, and arguably should not, fight on Ukrainian territory. But if the aforementioned actions are not taken, then Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia are next on Putin's list; and they are NATO members. And if the Alliance doesn't stand united in supporting Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression, then Putin will surmise that they will not stand united in their collective defense and Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty isn't worth the paper its written on.
Putin has said since 1999 that he thinks the collapse of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical tragedy of the 20th century and he longs to reclaim not just its territory, but its influence. Remember, Soviet influence in Europe wasn't just former Republics of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, but also the Warsaw Pact; whose western border was a wall down the center of Berlin.

And all of this isn't even taking into account our primary geopolitical foe in 2022, the Peoples Republic of China. How the US and the Western world responds to events in Ukraine will undoubtedly inform China's decision to move against Taiwan and further actions in the South China Sea.

Latvia invoked Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty this morning, which compels members to convene when any other member is concerned about its territorial integrity.

Chinese military jets in Taiwan airspace...

Latvia and Slovakia invoke NATO article 4. NATO's time to prove it's worth (or not) is now.

Wife stopped by to buy groceries this morning, reported some panic buying be observed.
