Got a few odds and ends done tonight. It's definitely getting closer.

Cleaned up the rear patch job.

Then I threw some primer on there. Seam sealer then paint to follow.

Finally got the alternator hooked up with its tiny little bracket. I need the longer alternator bracket if anyone has one. Alt belt, PS belt, PS all plumbed (not yet bled), and new lower radiator hose.

Got the rear tank installed, and 2 of the 5 lines installed. I ran out of hose before I could finish.

Plenty of clearance. I hope the bed fits over the top. It should.

Ok, question for you experts out there.

With my gas tank now between the frame rails, the filler neck tube isn't going to reach. Since that's not flexible tube I"ll have to come up with an alternative. I bought this 2" flex DIY exhaust material at Autozone. Anyone know what this stuff is made of, and if gas can run through it? I was thinking of just using it to make the angles I need for my filler tube, but I'm not sure if gas will dissolve it or not. I'd hate to dissolve it and run it through my engine.

I don't even know if it's water-tight, so it may be a terrible idea. I may just have the exhaust guys bend me up some exhaust tubing.

lol yeah.. but yours is a lowrider ..thats why mine is low.. now.. my tin top on 33s i think it had neon seats.. i was always gettin hung up

I don't think mine's going to be a lowrider at all. It's pretty tall, even with 3" springs. I can't wait to see it after the rear springs settle.

Mechanical
- IFS Box mount - done
- Steering Shaft Lengthened - done
- Hydro-assist
- PS pump mountend - done
- Install twin-stick & triple-drilled flanges

Exterior
- build gas tank mounts - done
- new bed mounts
- Brakes - manual prop valve and extended lines - done
- Fix and re-torque pass-side hub - done
- shorten rear DS
- get front DS done (take measurements with it flexed out)
- New Exhaust
- fix the fuses I smashed with a hammer
- new windshield
- Shocks and shock mounts
- extend fuel lines to reach the new fuel tank location - 40% done
- herculine the underside of the tunnel
- Herculine tunnel
- seam seal rear sheet metal, tunnel, and inner fenders
- Weld up the lower inner fenders

Interior
- clearance horseshoe collar - done
- tranny/tcase flat belly mount - done
- Tranny tunnel install - done
- Replace back of cab - done
- Floor Install - done
- Seat install
- Fender Tub - done
- Put Dash back together
- Install heater lines

Not absolute necessities
- Figure out how to hook up ebrake (not a priority before 9/10/10), possibly add taco rear drums
- bed bob
- modify carb to run at steep angles.


Notes of things to check before driving it.

Anyone know of a place I can get a pair of 5-point harnesses locally? Or does anyone recommend any brands? I like thick straps since they're more comfortable.

Check some drag race, or street race forums. Harnesses actually "expire" and will not pass tech inspection at drag tracks after 6 or 10 years or something like that, so you might be able to find some used ones for cheap.

Good point, I didn't think of that. I'm fine with expired harnesses for my rockcrawler. If anyone has any leads, PM me, I'd love to not have to order online if possible.

Ya know, now that I read up on it, I don't think I want a 5-point. It's so hard to see when you're wearing them. I think I'll stick with either just a lap belt or my factory 3-point.

Don't use that just go pick some of this up. They are also off the 21st South freeway.

I've got 4 feet of that, but it doesn't bend, and I need it to make a 90 degree angle to reach my filler tank.

Same tube? I know if its like the tube I've seen you can almost bend it in a circle. It should be like the flexible radiator hose only that it won't disolve in gas. They use it on commercial trucks where they put on a flat bed and use this type of tube to bend 90 degrees from the filler cap on the side to the round tank underneith.

used 4 point harnesses, they look kinda haggered, but whatev, that just means they are affordable

My agressive goal for the night is to start the truck before 9 PM. Here's what I'd like to get done today, but probably won't becuase I never work fast enough to meet my goals:

- align front steering
- install hydro-assist
- Flush and bleed steering
- attach fuel lines
- Attach heater and heater lines
- fix smashed fuses
- Replace any integral interior that will prevent it from starting
- start the truck

then, if there's time I'll work on the following:

- install twin-stick
- install seat brackets (there's no way I get this far tonight)

Already got the alignment done, but i've never done hydro assist before.

harnesses are nice man.. i just wear the lap belt then when things get hairy i buckle the rest of it up! at that point i usually have a spotter and yeah .. or when your just hauling butt i always feel alot safer being buckled in.. the advantage over your factory ones.. just going down the trail you dont have it rubbing on your neck all day..

As much as I want to run those new 37" KM2's, I'm going to have to sell them, I can't afford them. $1200 for km2's with 200 street miles on them.
