It's gonna be a lot nicer not having those twin sticks dog legged like that. I didn't realize it needed that much clearance. You should have just got some bricks to tie to the bottom of your shoes so you could reach the peddles with the seat all the way back :p

That will look so much nicer with seats in it. I want to see how the twin sticks work someday. Your truck is soo clean, did the previous owner even use it?

It sure doesn't look like he used it. HE had it from 60k-190k. It looks like it only has 50k on it.

REminds me of Indiana Jones. Im really short, and I like being able to touch the pedals, so this is the only way to do it.

that'd be great. The more the merrier this week, I have a TON to do before Moab:

- tighten front driveshaft bolts
- drop the t-case crossmember and install front t-case shifter
- un-mod rear twin stick
- install rear twin stick and boot
- install wheel spacers
- measure and install front bump stops
- install rear shocks
- get rear driveshaft shortened
- clean up threads on frame t-case mount
- find and install a front t-case mount (rubber one)
- install front seats/seatbelts
- paint and install sliders
- trim fenders
- fab up a rear bumper
- relocate rear shackle hangers

not absolutely necessary before Moab, but I'd sure like to get it done:
- install rear diff armor, finish welding front diff armor
- wire elockers
- add a leaf to the front pack
- rear bump stops

I'm definitely feeling overwhelmed, and I'm sure there are some things I've forgotten to add to the list. I've got 9 days to get all that done.

nice find on the seats. i have buckets in my truck too. idk what they are were there when i got my truck, but they are bolt in. i like them a lot very comfy. i want to get a console so i can have an arm rest/ a bit of storage. are you going to be doing a console? have any ideas yet?

wish i was closer i would help you make moab, the stuff you have left to do seems easy just time consuming. i hope you get some help. like you told me though just do at least one thing if not two on that list a night and you should be good.

what front bump stops did you go with?

I started trying to get the front shifter seated, and I noticed the t-case was leaking where it meets the tranny. I realized I had forgotten to put the gasket in. So I had to pull the cases again and silicone it all up. Thanks for the help Colton, I couldn't have done it without ya.

Then I locked my keys in the car. So I had to fish a magnet in through the hole where the rear case goes, and have my wife "spot" my magnet through the car 'till I got the keys.

After that, I spent 3 hours with my wife trying to get the front (forward shift) shifter lined up with the shift fork. There's a stupid little spring that gets in the way (it's shaped like a W). Page MT-1-24: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/manualtrans/9insta.pdf

I thought I got it in a few times, then I go to shift it, and it's all slop. I'm thinking the top c-clip isn't seating fully. I'm not able to remove the rubber boot around the shifter, the bolts are burried under the carpet, and I can't get to it without destroying the boot and/or carpet.

So, after 3 hours of trying to get the stupid shift lever in the transmission, in the rain, I called it quits. Looks like I'll be missing another moab trip due to my rig not being ready. Words cannot express the frustration right now. A 5 min job taking more than 3 hours, and it's still not done.

Well Steve I can't help this week but after Sunday I'd be more than willing to come down and give a hand, it's a bit of a drive but it'll be worth it if it will help get her done.

thanks for the offer TJ. If I can't get the t-case completely installed tonight, then I won't be able to make Moab no matter how many people come to help. I'll know better tonight, but it's not looking good. Thanks again.

Wow wow wow your letting a tcase stop you from Moab? When do you leave? I'll come over tonight, we will figure it out. worse case: ill help you pull the dumpster case out, then you can just take the top bolts off the case, then we can get that willy wanka lever set up right, and then we will just fish the whole bucket of parts up and in your truck shifter installed... Deal?

Haha, you crack me up Robby. Honestly, if you could lend a hand tonight I would REALLY appreciate it. I am at my witt's end with that stupid shifter.

If I don't get the t-case done tonight, then I won't have time to get the rest of the truck done in time for Moab. I'll shoot ya a text. I need another brain there to add to my half-brain that is only firing on 1 cylinder.
