Awesome Steve. It's good that you post up a lot. Who else is supposed to know what you are doing with your rig. I'm not a Zuk guy but it's still nice to read a thread with more detail than most. Hopefully when I get home we can go wheeling and I can see the end product and meet you and hopefully a few new guys as well.

I've read through a lot of your long threads and there is always some helpful info. Sure you post a lot and ask a lot of questions but how else are you supposed to get the opinion of so many people in one spot.

EDIT: Disregard the statement that was here.

Just keep plugging away like you have been. I can't wait to see how this thing turns out.

Same here Steve...I'm glad you post up a lot! How else am I supposed to know what was done to my truck and how it was done. I am glad you post up so many times during a build. Even though the 81 is for sale, that is one of the major reasons I wanted it. I know it was done right and no short cuts were taken. Keep it up!

haha, that thread helps ME remember what I did too. That '81 was done right. Love that truck. I'll hit you up in a month or so when I take this sidekick on its maiden voyage.

we can add creature comforts. Those are the best seats I've ever had. Let me know if you want to sell them, I'd love to hang onto them.

Ha. I think I'll hold on to them too. They are probably some of the more comfortable seats I've had. When did you say you're headed to Moab? I'll be headed down there March 17-20. Thinking about towing the 81 down there with my new (to me) 06 Tundra. Need to make a front bumper first though. Sorry for the hijack.

No worries. Shoot me a pm if you've got any questions on the 81.

I'm going to moab April 9-12

That '81 would dominate in moab with the long wheelbase.

Steve, I have to apologize for my post. It was suppose to be a fun poke at you, in response to GOING UP's post, not an attack at you. I am not good with forum humor or sarcasm.(sp?) I have deleted the post, if you want to remove it from your following post it's up to you. Carry on, you won't hear from me again.

You swapping to rear disc brakes while you are at it?

I thought about it, but there were a few disadvantages:
- I'd need a bigger M/C
- I lose my ebrake
- $ for a disc brake conversion kit

Advantages:
- better stopping power

I'm sure I'll be fine with rear drums. I figure this rig is lighter than an ifs toyota anyway, so I should have plenty of stopping power. i like my ebrake too much to give it up (especially when wheeling in Moab on steep inclines, with an A/T.

I hate garage cleaning days. It's great when it's done but somehow I always manage to accumulate enough trash over a couple months to fill my garbage can halfway. One of these days I'll learn my lesson and start cleaning as I go.

This things looking like it's gonna be pretty sweet Steve, hopefully by the time your springs get in you'll be ready to all but finish it up.

same here TJ, except I create two garbage can's worth of trash in a week. cleanliness is not my strength.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be waiting long on the springs, as long as they ship out late this week or early next week. Either way, my undertaker will take 3 weeks to 5 months to ship, so that'll be a real lesson in patience.
