Stuck truck in Butterfield Canyon needs removal before snowfall

Well i just got back and would like to thank notajeep and bucking bronco for having the farthest trip, and not being able to go. We waited about two hours before the sheriff showed up and then he only allowed four rigs to go up the canyon, some guys jumped in with other guys, but I know atleast 4 or 5 rigs just turned around and headed home or out to the snakes. Hopefully someone will post up some pics of the fun that was had !

Actually, he did check. He said that over the phone yesterday and days prior he said "there may be a pretty big group coming up; will that be OK?" And the sheriff said it would be fine. When the gate opener got up there, he said 2 vehicles could go up. Medsker talked him up to 4, but that was all we were getting.

Fortunately, that was plenty to get the job done. One of the guys video taped the recovery and will probably post it up eventually. We got the truck out, and were back out of the gate at the bottom and ready to go home at about 2pm.

Wow, so after it being mentioned to check on how many rigs will be allowed so people don't get turned away, they still didn't check?

Tyson checked and they said we could bring as many as we wanted but the Sheriff that opened the gate wouldn't let us.

That being said we got the truck out. It took three Jeeps winching, one straight up, one up and forward, and one forward but we got it. We had to dig a road and place trees down so we wouldn't slide off where I did and then chainsaw down another tree that was across the road. Pictures will be posted with more info, I was mostly a spectator this time but I did bring the cookies
