Well it was finally time to get a few folks out on this trail to see what its all about... so we decided to spend our sunday worshiping the love of life while in the great outdoors and especially out on the rocks!!! We all met early to save on the heat factor while in the UT desert, it proved to be the right decision because the group ended up growing to 15 very well built rigs so it took us some time to push thru!

Its def a good area with lots of potential once the silt and dirt settles where it needs to be. We started by running the exit trail backwards because this is a challenging route that allow the large group to push through a lot easier. Our trail run started in a wash and continues the whole way to the top of the hill that overlooks snakes. Throughout the adventure you encounter many rock riddles areas with decent ledges and a few waterfalls so thankfully everyone brought their A game cause it was awesome seeing all the sweet rigs perform! As you crest over top of the mountain you can see UT lake to the East, the 1st Tailings Pile North and the rattlesnake canyon trail with a couple abandoned mines with grating over them... all while knowing you have sunshine canyon to the left or the west of the you. Once

we headed down the pinnacle it looked as if we were headed right for the ledges on the rattlesnake trail... not the case, this is where the real fun begins and is the actual trail head for Sidewinder! We had a few folks peel off at that time cause it provides a perfect spot to bail out of the hard stuff! We spent some decent amount of time launching crawlers up waterfalls while others spectated the fun! By the end of the day we all were worn the freak out and I believe we all had an awesome time in the new area of 5mile pass! Glad everyone could make it out and I hope everyone pass's on the enjoyment this trail provides!

Wow good turn out, wish I could of made it. Was there any carnage on this trip?
well just a little... but mostly no mechanical difficulties!!! Some overheating on my rig, Tim with blown tire, one rollover, an Irock with a sidewall leak. Not sure about any others, its hard to be in the lead with 15 rigs... ya never get to run back and forth to check out the cool action.

Great time and great trail. It was like being in a whole different area. Though my rig loved the new climbs but didn't like the sharp turns lol. I liked the direction we ran. The side hilling sure had my nerves a mess. I can handle steep leans in my rig no problem, but leaning down a big hill gets me. Guess it's time for wider axles.

once again... the pictures never do a trail justice.

Thanks for posting up pictures Ryan. I will tell the dudes to check them out, most of the Evolve guys are not on RME. I did see you posted vids to Phil and Devo's pages though.

We need to plan a Hanging Tree weekend (when the wife and new baby will let me get away)...
