I know plenty of wheelers that don't like the idea of rockcrawling that dosn't mean that they are not for the sport of fourwheeling.

Sometimes I think people forget that there is a huge difference between fourwheeling and rockcrawling.[ /QUOTE]

to the first part, rockcrawling came from 4 wheeling.

to the second part, there is not a huge difference, it is a 4 wheel drive sport........right???????

no not eager to liquidate anything. I am just at a loss to understand that I voice my opinion on ticket cost and labeled an anti-(fill in blank).

Yes there is ahuge differance are you going to say that there is no difference between score desert racing and fourwheeling or maybe there is no difference between monster trucks and fourwheeling.
There are alot of people that fourwheel in this country but only maybe 200 that compete in rockcrawling. I know you don't have to compete to rockcrawl but before competition I don't recall the word being used.

I think everyone was making general comments about not suporting, this event no one was trying to make this a personal attack. Then you come out with the gloves on ready to defend yourself. I have no problem with you as I said before have a good weekend whatever you choose to do. If you do make it out to the event come by and say hello to the 522 team. Peace.

Geez I can't believe the things than people ***** about. $15 is a deal for a 6 hour + event to watch your local buddies roll their trash. I bet in the next 5 years it'll be in the $20+ range. Sure UROC asking for volunters and fre dirt and rocks. DUH who wouldn't if they were building this course! UROC is only trying to cut their costs so tickets will be cheap. Cause it's the fans that make it all happen! If you don't like the price then volunter for the event. I'm getting hooked up cause I didn't just sit in front of a PC and ***** about things. I got off my but and am helping these guys out. What's bettter, to have a event out in outer BFE Arizona on Indian land in 120+ degree weather for a low cost entry?Wouooo........oops fell off my soapbox. Ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiip NOMAX suit is on and the POR salute to all you squeakers out there. I'l be cheering on Team Kemp and the RockLogic guys!

I think its funny how, because I made a comment that I thought 15 dollars a day was a bit much. People jumped to all sorts of conclusions, but whatever.

I wish all you gentlemen the best of luck and its too bad that you all can't win.

oh yeah pirate salute to you too :D

SuperCrawl is going to rock. Those that were there will remember how much the first SuperCrawl rocked. That was the weekend that changed rockcrawling from a backwoods redneck event into a legitimate sport for legitimate teams to compete in. SuperCrawl three looks like it is going to be the same way. It may be the event that brings rockcrawling out of the small towns (and small crowds) into the mainstream with large crowds, large exposure, and large sponsors. If you are involved in the sport it is an exciting weekend, and it is right smack dab in my back yard. COOL. Not everyone is going to be interested in seeing buggies climb up artificial rocks all day. For those people 5 bucks is too much, let alone 15 or 25. Don't get upset about it, there are plenty of people in the city to fill whatever bleachers they can set up. Remember, this is not in Cedar City, this is Salt Lake. Our couple million person population will easily be able to fill the couple thousand seats. More importantly, I want to make Salt Lake a destination that rockcrawling teams WANT to come to. I know the local shops are rolling out the red carpet, and that is really awesome. Let's treat the teams and spectators that came a long way like our guests, and maybe we can have events in our back yard more often.

I know, no one is still reading this, but one more thing... The Nascar comparisons are natural, because that is our goal. We see race car drivers earning great money doing what they love. Everyone that is competing in SuperCrawl loves rockcrawling just as much. We see an opportunity (maybe only a slim one) to build it into something on the order of Nascar, and get paid to do it. We've seen it happen, Dustin and Becca each have a six figure contract. That is exciting, to think that I may have an oportunity sometime in the future to do this for a living. The Nascar comparisons may be a bit of wishful thinking, but it is a goal, and if you don't have a goal you will never achieve it.

Thanks Joe, it's nice to have some fans in the crowd. You're right, if this thing is gonna ever be big, it's the fans that will make it that way.

I think when an event as huge as this SuperCrawl shows up in your 'hood, and you have no interest in going, you're not a fan. If you want to go, but can't justify the cost, have other things already planned, have to work, or whatever, you can still be a fan, you just can't go. It's okay to not be a fan. You can like participating in four wheeling, but not care so much to watch others do it. I can't tell you if you are a fan or not. Your interest in four wheeling certainly makes you a prime candidate for becoming a fan. I have faith that in 10 years you'll be running around with a #50 sticker on your Jeep telling your friends that you knew me when... :D

James - I am just ribbing you man. I hope you come out for one day at least. Sunday is going to be the longest day I think, so come out then.

As far as what RockMonkey is saying - that is the truth! I followed the sport since its inception and it was never for me until I went to the first SuperCrawl. OMG!!! It was one of the best weekends I have ever had. I could not believe what was going on in front of my eyes. It was so cool and I was hooked.

SuperCrawl II I spotted and SuperCrawl III I am driving! I was hooked instantly. Maybe, just maybe, there is a chance that some of us can do it for a living in the future. Your $15 is going to help us get there. I don't know if you will be hooked the same way but maybe your kids will be or maybe they will just grow up remembering how cool that event was and having a connection to the sport and our way of life.

Sorry James, I wasn't aiming my reply to you. I just see $15 as a cheap day of entertainment. I know guys that'll spend $500 for a weekend of hunting and really don't care if they get a deer. It's all relative.

This weekend is going to be a blast.

I guess it is all relative. I would spend $500 for a great weekend of wheeling, but I am not sure I would even want to spend my day off watching others even if the admission was free. I am thinking about going but I am thinking it will be a lot like porno for me. Interesting for a few minutes and then I will want to go do something else

So is this to say that if I were a NASCAR fan, and they were having a new race in my hometown, which has never had one before, I would also not be a fan unless I plopped down the cash and went? According to logic like that, no one is a fan until they attend an event. I would have to disagree with that. What about Joebob that lives out in the backwoods, and can't afford to drive/fly to the nearest town to watch such an event. Is he not a fan?

I have to agree with James K on this one. Just because he doesn't want to spend that much money to attend this event doesn't make him not a fan. And I never heard him say he wasn't interested in going, just that he didn't want to pay that much to attend. I would like very much to attend, but also don't want to spend that kind of money for it. Call me a cheapskate, call me "Not A Fan", call me whatever you'd like, but if I have to spend $15 to ba a "fan" in your eyes, forget it.

I was not being negative toward you gentlemen BUT, you have turned this negative towards me. I have supported this sport for quite sometime. But it seems that I voice my opinion towards the price of the tickets and automaticly I am label an anti whatever.

the reason there is negativity towards you is a lot of us have invested years and probably over $100000.00(at least) in this sport knowing that we love it.
we all hope it will grow into a motorsport with a lot of spectators and sponsors.
when we hear of some assholes saying that $13($15 less $2 discount coupon) is too much....well screw you pal! when because of uroc, public awareness of what we do helps to open trails and grows the sport enough to where you can make a living at it.....sorry you should sell your **** and go hiking!

Whoa dude! Read my freak'n post that YOU QUOTED! Did I ever say that if you can't afford the 15 bucks, or if you can't justify the expense you are not a fan? NO! Did I ever say James was not a fan? NO! What I said was if you HAVE NO INTEREST in going, you're not a fan. Wheather you can spend the money, or want to spend the money, or have ever spent the money to go to an event has little bearing on if you are a fan or not. If you are a fan (god what a stupid argument...) you WILL have some INTEREST in going. If you are going to quote me and argue about it, read my freak'n post first. Yeah, if you are a Nascar fan, and a race comes to your town, you will have INTEREST in going! You may or may not want to spend the money but you still want to go.

Fan or not a fan, it is in the eye of the beholder I suppose. Whether I am interested or not, is also in the eye of the beholder. For me, I am INTERESTED. But I ain't gonna fork over $15 to go there. Would rather spend that money on my rig.
