Joseph the Red,
While a noble idea, it is my opinion that hosting a live web meeting is... how shall I put this-- a lot of work without the return we might all like to see. I could be wrong, but that's how I feel about it. Board meetings aren't TV shows, they're board meetings. They're once a month. Pretty much everyone on the Wasatch Front could get there. Now, if it was <$100/yr, and we had cameras, I like the idea for the 14 people outside the Wasatch Front that would take advantage of that. But again, I can look up the members outside a 100mi radius, and there aren't that many. Same with "people who want to come but are at work at 6:30 on a Thursday and would be able to watch at work anyway". Again, my opinion, not the board's.
Venerable Jack Johnston:
I fully agree with not publishing unratified minutes. That would probably be in violation of a bylaw anyway.
The minutes I posted are the latest that have been entered on U4's forum, and are all approved.
501c3 stuff, as it is currently and somewhat amazingly still pending, aren't really an issue for discussion
at the moment. As you know, I'm still sort of on the fence about it anyway, but it's probably a good thing. Sally forth.
Also, I will be in touch this weekend regarding some of your upcoming meetings. And again I thank you for your considerable time in the fray. That's commendable and inspirational. Thank you, Jack.
Jack's right about this:
My next point, all RME members, in fact all four wheelers, have the responsibility to report things that happen that U4 can help bring to a good conclusion. If we don't find out what is happening where you ride how can we help. We have the responsibility to keep you informed of our actions.
Proceed!
