You mean this one Wayne?

How much did you spend on the valve, lines, and fittings Herzog? That one way ram of yours sells for about $80 from the link you provided.

I spent close to $350 for the valve... fittings and lines were somehwere around $100 - $150. The ram was more around $70 when I bought mine. Same one though.

I am sorry if I have taken over your thread. I went to a company who specailized in Hydro steering just for this very reason. I wanted a proven system that would work that way it was supposed to without problems, even if I had to pay more for. So now I just don't know what went wrong.
The check valve I am told keeps the steering wheel from kicking, or, when driving up the trail should I hit a large rock, with the "feed back/load reactive" valve the fluid may flow backwards from the ram and force the steering wheel to kick, the valve prevents this from happening. I never put it on until I replumbed for the rear steering and I never had a kickback before I did.
I have checked the routing of my lines (thanks for the Diagrams!) and they are exactly as in the diagram. The only possibility I can think of is that the return line is collapsing under vacuum, as it did once before, but that didn't make my steering improve very much when I replaced the hose before. Only when it got really hot.
I am going to call Sean tommarow and see if he can tell me what valve he sent me. I think it is the wrong one.

That would make sense, but I don't see how a rock or etc could cause that much of a problem on the steering wheel end. I could see it doing the same thing, if near as bad, as a manual steering system...

Like I said before, I have no idea on this...

I really don't either, like I said it was recommended by someone "in the know" so I bought it. Can't say it has helped at all.

I had a hard time getting mine working right, sounds like mine was doing the same as yours. My problem ended up being air still trapped inside.

In my case the ram has slightly more travel than the knuckles, so I had to remove the connection to the high steer arms and rebleed the system. That got all the air out and it was night and day vs. how it acted before.

Since I think I kinda high-jacked this thread too, I will post some of the prices I paid for parts I got from POS (Sean Station):

2.5" Bore Cylinder w/8" stroke $380.00
3/4 Clevice ends $32.50 Each
Piece of sh*t valve $320.00
Check Valve (one way valve) $25.00 (anti kickback)
Orbitol Braket $10.00
BSM steering column $42.00
Steering shaft U-joint $52.00
Cooler/Reservoir $125.00
quick release steering wheel hub $75.00

These prices are 15 months old, don't know how much change there might be but at least it gives you ball park idea.
If I can find my invoice for PSC I will post those prices too.

Is this your current system that works, or the last system that you had problems with? I'm confused, you did buy two systems right?

I bought two, it is the first I am having trouble with. The rear steer works off the front and uses a "Pilot" valve (joystick) and so it is hard to tell if the system is working as well as it could be or not. The front I know isn't, it is slow turning and hard to turn. I think the best I can descibe it is it feels like it did when my return hose collapsed and there was restriction in the system. The hose looks ok still, but that means nothing. I am going to find a better hose that holds up to suction better.

I got the email in to them...With the holiday, I don't think I'll hear anything back until at least Tuesday, maybe even Wednesday. I'm also inquiring about the other parts needed....What the heck, right :D
