My daughter's yard is in, I have no more vacations planned until September. The only thing I have is a weekly ride with Harrison on the dirtbikes so I am game to go for a ride. I still have some parts at some point I need to toss on it. I bought a Seat Concepts seat and I have a GIVI Adjustable Windscreen. Supposedly, you can get rid of wind buffeting, or at least the majority of it.

Last year I rode the White Rim Trail and came around a corner a little hot and my front tire lost traction. On my way to the ground my boot buckle or something put a little tear in my seat cover and it bugs me so I got a seat last year and just need to put it on. My advice, don't tip these things over if you have bad shoulders. If you do, make sure you have someone with you. Just saying, its a whole lot better if someone is helping you lift these big girls up off the ground.

This may be a fun ride. Still Water Dam

I wonder if the road is open above Heber and Timber Lakes to go in through this way and make a loop back to Heber?

My bikes are no fun on dirt/gravel roads, so I'd have to ride there on the paved roads. Any interest in sticking to the paved roads? I've never been to that Dam.

This looks awesome. I have good intel that the road over timberlakes is open all the way to wolf creek pass. Looks like it's 97 miles from my house, probably closer to 75 if you start from Heber.

This is the route to take if the roads are clear of snow:

The dam spilling is for sure worth a visit. Pictures don't show it really well. The spillway is 600' wide.

Great minds think alike, except great minds start was south of Kaysville
Great minds come from Kaysville, isn't that right Corban? It would be good to know if the route through Brighton/Solitude was open, additionally, you keep going and go through Altamont and Tabiona on the way back. There is a dirt road that goes through the reservation but I'm only 1/8th Cherokee so I don't have a pass. I know the ride from Timber Lakes to the Reservoir is really pretty. I think it was Tabiona that I ate lunch at the last time I rode the route. Anyway, sounds fun. Can anyone go during the week, early AM?

Depends on the day Russ. I'm down to play hookey for a mid week ride with my old friend. I might even bring my dad and his 890. I can almost keep up with him now.

I can tell you that Guardsmans Pass, White Pine Canyon, and every paved road normally closed in winter, are now open.

I rode East Canyon, Trappers loop, Monte Cristo, Mirror Lake Highway, White Pine Canyon, and Guardsmans Pass, today

Suzuki hasn't done a thing to a lot of their line up for 10 years and you are telling me they have a Demo truck? Wow

Well, I rode several bikes I've never ridden before, and had a good time. They cooked hotdogs for lunch, I wasn't expecting that.

I also got to watch a young guy dump one of the Demo Hayabusas. Poor bike...

Anyway, pics of the bikes I rode.

I owned a GSXR1K several years ago. I rode it for a break from ADV and Dual Sport bikes...

I guess I didn't a get a pic of the V-Strom 1050 I rode.

They are doing it again tomorrow if anyone's interested.

One thing that has always annoyed me has been the buffeting from the wind while on the pavement which isn't very often but is necessary. I searched all over the old inter-web and found some pretty good reviews of this GIVI model AF7711 that is adjustable. I really liked the low, smoked look of the OE windscreen but It didn't do much for buffeting. The install was pretty straight forward and as always, I forgot to take before and during picture so I grabbed an old picture.

This windscreen is adjustable from a little over stock height to up to 5". It is contoured a little different and a little wider than the stock screen.

GIVI, the additional windscreen that is a toolless system allowing it to be raised and lowered. It is in the lowered position here.

I tried 3 different wind shields on my bike to try to get rid of the buffeting. None really worked. I ended up cutting one short, so now I get ALL the wind. I prefer that to the head slapping buffeting wind.

I found the best solution for me was a fairing that kept the wind off my chest, but put my head in clean air.
