Its been a couple weeks so I guess I better do a Moab report before I forget everything
First day went to BFE and ran Green Day. No real issues besides my tires getting into my fenders as shown above. I was pretty easy with it tho. Just feeling it out. First impression was everything worked great. Tires were better than expected, added wheelbase was nice. I thought I was going to lose a lot of up travel but I dont think I lost much at all.
second days ran Hells Revenge. Not to far into the trail I broke the mount off my axle that holds the ram for the rear steer. It actually snapped the mount in 2! Got that welded up then 100 yards later the constant duty solenoid for the fuel pump took a dump. Bypassed it and went the rest of the day with no issues.
Third day back to BFE. Went straight to Britany Spears and thought I would give her a go. Got up to the hard part and just starting crawling and the inevitable....Broken rear shaft. It didnt make a noise and I wasnt on it....just crawling. After A LOT of help getting the shaft replaced we ran Lockjaw and Greenday again with no issues. Turned out to be a dang fun day!
Fourth day was Pritchett. This trail has had my number in the past but not this day! Killed it! I was the only one in our group to make it up Rocker Knocker. It was raining and the whole trail was pretty slick. Good thing I have mud tires! Besides Steve rolling on the rockpile there wasnt to many issues this day. Just a dang nice day of wheelin.
Fifth day we ran Poison Spider and I let the wife drive. OH pulling it off the trailer we noticed the studs for the high steer arm for the rear steer were broken. With Leroys mad skills it didnt take long to fix this up tho. My wife used to love driving this trail but was bored this time. All the parts that used to challenge her didnt anymore. 54s will do that. We did start getting air in the lines for the rear steer and it was flopping back and forth. Made for an interesting ride but got the trail ran and some of Golden Spike with no other issues.
Sixth day we ran Metal Masher. Had a flippin blast but it was cold. I fixed the leak the rear steer was sucking air thru and it worked til the end of the day. We didnt see anyone else out there and it was just a good day wheelin. Got up Widowmaker for the first time to! On the way out I thought we were sucking air again but it turned out to be the studs on the high steer arm again. No matter. Got to the trailer and the trip was done!!!
For as much as I changed on the Scout it really did good. Did have issues with the rear steer but it was all old stuff. Its funny I went 2 years with no issues and then slapped 54s on and it was done. Crazy the extra force over the 47s.
Im very happy with everything but the rear steer needs to be upgraded and Im ready for coilovers and air bumps in the back. We did have a bottoming out issue in the back end I forgot to mention.
