So yesterday's ride was awesome! Jon, Brian and his brother came with me and we started up North Canyon.

It was super nice out with no wind and fairly warm too. The leaves are definitely changing and it is gorgeous up there!

We ran over the top and down Mueller park then back up and then the rain hit! Wow what a trip, wet dirt trail + wet leaves made the trail really slick but it was fun sliding around the corners.

We ran a pretty quick pace and had a few crashes, but they were all pretty mild...

So Jo, Ut
I was going to sell some stuff, mow the lawn at some properties, and do some property maintenance/winterizing.. But screw it.
I do have some family activities and would need to be home about 2:30 though..
I would be interested in finding that side winder trail, but that would only take a few minutes to ride.. and there is not a whole lot more out there... But I imagine we would find something..
AF canyon is going to be cold... But I own a coat or two.

I have a buddy who was on military duty all summer, and has been begging to go ride. Would you mind if he cam along? He is good enough to play, but he's no down hill full throttle specialist like you ;)

Vonski, Sam, Lev and I rode Rabbit Valley on Thursday... Lev is Canadian, Sam lives in Washington State and they came a long way to ride, regardless of the weather! It was cold & raining, but we geared up and headed out! Von was running a little late and said he'd meet up with us in the afternoon.

We started with Trail #8 and it was amazing, the sand on the trail which is normally a PITA, was incredible... all the traction you wanted! Some parts of the trails getting out there were quite slippy, lots of Bentonite in Rabbit Valley. The washes were flowing water and we ran across several waterfalls of varying amounts of water. The trail wasn't slippery at all, due to the amount of sand on the ground. It was some great riding!

We moved on to the Western Rim trail and rode it across the Utah border... then decided to head back to the parking lot close to 1 PM. On the way back we came across one of the roads down in a canyon that was flowing about 8-10" of fast moving water. We could have taken the more-dry ATV trail back, but opted for the fun watery road! At one point while hauling ass up the road/river, I was able to get my front tire to hydroplane! It was crazy how much water was moving down the road, it was impressive!

Von showed up around 1:30 and magically the clouds opened up and even the sun came out! He must be a good luck charm! Von unloaded, geared up and we headed out again... this time the dirt was perfectly tacky, not slippery at all! We rode the Western Rim trail again, planning on riding the far West end of Rabbit Valley and working our way over to the Zion Curtain trail. Once we finished the Rim, we came across a large wash that was running fast & deep! We discussed attempting to ride it, but decided it wouldn't be smart. We headed to another crossing which was wider and found (using a stick) that the water was deeper than the seats of our bikes, and the stick STILL hadn't hit the bottom!

We rode the Rim trail back to the trucks as it started to rain again and were talking about making another ride on Trail #8, but the skies opened up and it started pouring. We were soaked and hungry, so we called it a night and headed for some good Mexican food in Fruita! After dinner, the other guys headed back to Green River for another day of riding and I went home, seeking a hot shower and my bed... it was an exhausting day!

Brian I'm up for either ride, but I'll bet AF Canyon is nasty muddy and slippery after all this rain. Bring your buddy it's always more fun with another rider in the mix! If it's as cold as last weekend I'll need an assistant to help convince my bike to start....

It was so much fun, I've ridden in the rain out there before, but there wasn't nearly this much water! It was crazy, Sam had his GoPro and I'm sure he got some epic footage. I didn't have mine, it's got a big scratch on the lens and I need to fix it. :(

Sam & Lev have a 2 bike hitch hauler they used on the back of Sam's Tahoe, Von had his 250 in the back of his Tow-Coma!

I would love to show you (or anyone) around Rabbit Valley! There's a day's worth of riding out there for sure, if you want to ride the Fruita desert & down 21 Road (which is a blast!), that could be another full day.

We're meeting at the main parking 5 mile around. 8:30 AM. One great thing about 5 mile is that it's always easy to return back to the trucks so we can make any schedule work. I would love to have another 4-stroke out there Grant!

I didn't have my GoPro running for the rainy ride out at Rabbit Valley, but Sam did! Here's his video from the soaking, wet day! It get's real interesting just over half way in...

That ride must have been such a thrill! All that water makes it even better

It was crazy, we didn't have to ride up the 'river', there was a dryer option... but the river sure looked fun... and it was! When I hauled ass past Sam, the pressure of the water coming off the front tire was trying to push my feet off the pegs! I got up some good speed, leaned back and got the front tire hydroplaning! At the end, my boots felt like they weighed about 50#'s each... we got completely soaked.
