Here is a link to her old build

https://www.rme4x4.com/threads/maddies-drive-way-1-ton-rover-build.88699/

We decided to take all the parts from her old rig and build something else.
Here are some pics of her old rig.

We didn’t really plan on a build thread so most the pics are just ones I texted to people or took just to look cool on facebook. I’m out of motivation and hoping his helps.

This has been a very slow build between the company I worked for going through changes , getting bought out , Maddie finishing nursing school and switching jobs a couple times ( with in her hospital she is working at ) buying a house , me switching jobs , lots of Wheeling and dirt bike trips and life. Now it’s time to start working in this thing again.

This was the last time she drove it Maybe August? 2016 at the Herriman tough truck challenge . She did awesome and got 2nd place.

And here is what we were transferring the parts to.

This was going to be a quick 6 month build with a friend building her a roller but it didn’t work out.

In October we pulled it into the shop and took it apart.

We pulled the axles and cut the front off.

Then we lifted the chassis and dropped engine , tranny and tcase all together.

Loaded up and called it a night.

These were some inspiration for the build.

Since me and My friend were not seeing eye to eye with the way the build was going I decided it would be best just to build it myself and try to salvage a friendship.

But I have 0 fab skills and didn’t have a place to work on it. Luckily I had another friend offer to let me use his shop. So I moved it there.

Once we got it moved the first thing to do cut the back of the cab off.

I mounted the front lowers as low as a I dared.

Put a threaded sleeve all the way through the frame .Had a friend tig weld it. Then I plated both sides of the frame and the bolt will run all the way through. Also the miss alignment spacer is currently welded on .. but I might change that .2C7F0DEE-5BC9-4C86-8782-D1956E7E1E40.jpeg1605F926-8997-4B80-B3DA-E458C857C1D5.jpegchassis side upper 3rd link mount / foot rest E59776BC-AA34-45C0-868F-92695FC8CAEC.jpeg

This is rad, watching.

I'm digging the chopped sami back end.

Can you explain a bit more how you're mounting your front, lower, chassis side links? If I understand it right, it'll be - bolt through misalignment spacers/heim then directly into the threaded bung you put in the frame, is that right? I'm just curious about the single shear and/or bending loads on the bolt (if I understand it right), and how strong that is. If it works well though, that's a clean way to do it.

I was going to take most of the centering lip off the misalignment spacer and make one for the other side that had a longer internal piece and then just have a thin outer side to the bracket but then I lost access to a lathe so I’m not sure what I’m doing now.

I don’t know if I trust the single sheer or not. I think the misalignment spacer being welded on would help but idk ha

Mocked up some more tubes

Almost got frustrated and was going to remount drive train and make it a right hand drive. She wasn’t thrilled .3188A1F5-67C9-463C-9D02-B75B72910D98.jpeg

For some reason I thought it would be cool to sit her as far forward has possible and have the B pillar as far forward as possible too. ( I want my wife to be safe that was the hole reason for this build)

We had Corbeau Baja JP seats and she really liked them but the allowed her head to hit the B pillar so we got some Corbeau Baja Ultras that wrap around you more up higher and now she can not hit her head.B6D76767-5DEE-4DF9-9EC8-F99CD88E0829.jpeg

Mocked up the Roof Sliders and some exterior tubes.

Took the chassis to my work to use the lift and to get my co worker to to tig weld the frame sleeves in.

And made some speed holes.
