Steve, remind me to show you my Jeep test drive video. We were sluffing school, decided to see if the Jeep dealership would let us test drive a semi-built 97' TJ they had on the lot. The salesman hopped in with us and we were off. Spent the next hour bashing through mud holes up Corner Canyon. Burned a quarter tank of gas and brought it back covered in mud :D

I think a Farabee's Rubicon on 33's I rented in Ouray, CO about two years ago was $150 for 24 hours... having to have it back by 6:00pm the next day. It was worth it for me as I didnt want to drive my Jeep from Provo to Ouray at the time. It was great for running the Mining roads to Animas Fork and also over Imogene Pass.

I rented for Cliffhanger once while I was on a business trip when I was living in FL. Even though I failed to return the Jeep by the 7PM deadline, I was able to return it for on additional charge in the AM despite the contract stating they would charge me for another day.... good peeps over there.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I've rented twice and was great both times. Nothing better then getting pictures of your rental with all four tires off the ground at the hidden dunes or crawling up Hells Gate.

Ive rented them a few times, and it has worked out great, always reminds me of the challenging days of when I used to try and avoid body damage.

I was thinking about buying a jeep.......should I rent instead??

I know a few guys who have spent a ton on jeeps they only take out a couple of times a year, for them they would be money ahead by renting once or twice a year, but for you and I who go wheeling all the time I say buy, build and abuse.. renting is fun now and agian too

I counted 16 jeeps along main street for sale... I seen blazers, bronco, even a old fj80, buggies and even military trucks and blazers... military generators and car haulers from 16 footers all the way up to a 5th wheel trailer with jeep hauler inside it... a few boats even for sale....

The jeeps range from cj2a up to tj's even a commando as stated before... the only jeeps I have not seen for sale are JK and the older wagoneers, j truck and cherokees... but I really haven't been looking for them....

They are everywhere!!!

One of my friends rolled a JK from Farabees at area BFE a few years ago. Can't remember what it actually ended up costing him, but he said they treated him really fair on the aftermath.

Just like that. I scratched the pass side rear flair going up Hells Gate. Cost me $50. It was a brand new JK. Still had the temp tags on it. Oh well.

So if you roll or damage one of these rentals you pay for it? Isnt there insurance that you can get to cover your butt? I have never done a rental down there so i wouldnt know?
